When you're sitting in your basement in your underwear rubbing feces all over yourself do you ever stop and think "Holy sh!t I'm really Fvcking insane"?

It’s not good.

Attached is a story from the National Post that doesn’t paint a great picture of the Canadian Junior leagues.

Very helpful link. After reading it I wondered if Hockey Canada oversaw the CHL in some way and googled that. Up came another helpful read on what exactly HC is. https://www.thestar.com/n...heart-of-the-scandal.html

I have, just because you refuse to even attempt to discuss it doesn't mean you are correct. Study and review history for yourself. I live every day knowing what I am told is not the truth, so why should an NHL draft lottery be any more true and fair?
- powerenforcer

PE, show me what proof you have that Bettman, or anyone else influenced or manipulated the system to ensure Pittsburgh got Crosby. Just because you don’t think what you’re told isn’t true, doesn’t mean it isn’t true. Show us the proof you have of your allegations.

Gotta say, I'm a bit jealous. I've been playing golf 20+ years and still hoping to break 100!
Good thing for me there's Blackhawks hockey to watch...

You need playing partners who give longer gimmies. I broke 80 with those guys!

Saw this a few years ago. https://www.vice.com/en/a...as-poisoned-junior-hockey

Does not surprise me too much.

There seem to be inherent issues in many (most?) sports where phenoms are taken out of their homes at a young age and sequestered away for primary purpose of developing sports superstars.

Well i hope you enjoy it as well, I'm blessed to be 6 4 and 200 pounds so i have an advantage in club head speed to many people. Blessed to be athletic since I've played sports since i was a wee little kid. It's just one of those sports where you compete against yourself.

That would be nice, the guys i play against only give you a 2 foot put if you're lucky, but I'm lucky enough to play with these 3, twice a week all summer.

Suggestion for you - Cheat. Like Patrick Reed now on the LIV Tour does. Do the kind of stuff he gets away with and you will be in the 80's quickly.

A bit of advice I can guarantee will shave a lotta strokes off your score. Keep the driver, and even all your woods, in your bag. Period.

Got bit by the sport, dudes I ran with ain't golfers, golfed alone, hit Marquette Park often in the AM, golfed with 75 yr olds, they hit it 150 yds straight, I hit em 250 crooked, they beat me. A senior told me put your driver away, hit irons, at the range hit your 5 iron 150-200 times a week and you'll hit the thing with accuracy.

Within a couple months I went from hitting 95's-100's down to the 80's. Par 5 520 yds, I hit my 5 iron outa the box 180 yds, next shot 5 iron 180 yds, I'm 160 out, soft 6 and I'm up putting for birdie.

You gonna hit a 300 yd drive, then a 220 yd 3 wood and be up putting for an eagle? Sure, maybe once a yr but using an iron 3 times and up happens 7 outa 10 times and you're 2 putting for par whereas the driver has you in the other fairway 50% of the time.

Nope, ain't gonna hit the 70's, ain't gonna be on the tour, look goofy hitting a 5 iron outa the box on a 525 yd par 5, but my game was set up to par not eagle or really even birdie and if I hit par every hole I shoot a 72 or bogie every hole I hit 90!!!

IMO worse thing that can happen to 90% of golfers is to rip a 275 yd drive down the middle. You'll be chasing that forever while 50% of your drives end up in the other fairway, in the woods, a sand trap, water or rough. Let someone else in your group be the baddest mofo with a 300 yd drive, use an iron that gets you 180 yds in the middle of the fairway.

Just one rd keep your woods in your bag and I promise you'll be in the fairway and 2 putting for par more than you ever have. ...... Remember par is a 72, bogie is 90!!

The Fact that:

The fact that a contender to pay Toews half his salary, or find yet a third team to gobble up half of the half, you are talking about a large price for Johnny.

I just don't think that is happening unless he is in a top six attacker and a defensive specialist who can play into overtime with stamina.
That means that his weekly summer training has to produce the former Toews, b/c it wasn't until the end of last season that it seemed he was ABLE to not be overly winded, and never what we saw four years ago.

If a team can simply traded a prospect like Owen Tippett and get Claude Giroux on loan, why would they go through process of also paying a Cap eating 3rd team?

This is why Toews must play here and very well to bring any return to a contender until the trade deadline. (and ditto on Kaner is an easier trade for a team if they wait until then to have less to split with the Blackhawks if he chooses to go contend for a 4th Cup.)

So let's say there is a mid-standing team, that likes everything about Toews for their room, want to re-up him, and you have to think part of it is as a person THEIR kids can learn from. Maybe they pay for that privilege, but where that puts Tazer is in a role similar to what he would be asked to fill here.

Logic reigns over these rumors.

We only take one mulligan if necessary on first tee, and again, gimmes are 12” or less. Back to hockey, on Dots link I noticed that Leddy is up to 205 lbs. now, I’m hoping that Mitchell can add a few pounds, I’m high on him.

Your post is real good. I grew up working at a course and played most days growing up and got pretty good (low 80's to mid 70's). One of my friends started playing as an adult and used to swing from the heels. I bet him I could beat him with only an 8 iron and a putter and I did, shot 88. And now as an old man I just in the last week put the driver away cuz I was still chasing the 250+ drives that used to be automatic.

Felt the need to post. If tonyO35 has golfed for 20 some yrs and can't get into the 90's poor guy deserves better. But really he has the right mindset. He obviously enjoys himself and the game regardless of results.

Everyone is different obviously except most can't hit a driver well enough that it doesn't hurt their game. A good golfer like yourself knows distance is a far 2nd to accuracy in importance.

Of course if you can hit a driver consistently enough by all means hit it but if not if most try just using irons they'll see a nice improvement in their scores and of course that makes the game much more enjoyable.

As far as hockey the US team plays Germany in their first game of the Hlinka tournament at 4:00 today on NHL Network. These are all 1st yr draft eligibles available at next yrs 2023 draft.

Gee…..How soon did the Hawks win after drafting Toews and Kane. Hmmm…..
- Ztra

I realize I am late to the thread here ... but my goodness, Keith and Seabrook were already there. If you could start a team w/ Keith, Seabrook, Toews and Kane that would be a pretty fantastic place to kick things off ...
