So the Flyers need roughly $5mil to resign Frost, Tippett and a backup. They send Brink, Attard and Fedotov (maybe other options here) to the minors. That gives them $3.435 mil in space. This includes the $700K+ they are currently under the cap.

Seems like another move needs to be made still. Keep in mind this also includes not resigning MacEwen. What is the other move(s)?

Of course they can start the season with multiple players on LTIR and let it play out.

What is the other move, if any?

If the Chychrun rumor is true, Chuck must finally be feeling the heat - he knows how bad he’s f’d up this team. That said, I’m sure it’s only a matter of time until he signs Kessel and triumphantly announces, “we have finally acquired an elite scorer.”

Chychrun averages about 60 games a year and has never played more than 68 games in any one season. He played 47 games last year. That's much better than 4, but it's certainly not ideal. I don't know why this isn't discussed more.

Sounds like someone else the Flyers traded for last offseason -- but we were told that individual is not injury prone

No shot ltir can be used in off season. More reason jg could’ve been signed. You can continue your false narrative.

Please explain how and why you said philly couldn’t get jg by trading Jvr or buying him out as it wouldn’t cover but maybe 50% of the way to getting cap complient.

Oh wait they let me guess they don’t have plan like the other teams that “have plan” to use ltir at season opening.

You continue to dodge the question

Or other teams that use ltir in off season to account for the 10% overage.

You’re so obtuse you think this is about cap understanding or anything else.

You stated moving Jvr wouldn’t be enough to fit jg in mid July plain and simple. Wrong. Since you’re the resident bumhole I mean resident cap expert please explain how and why they couldn’t fit him if
1) teams can use ltir in off season to to account for 10% overage and
2) teams go over cap in mid July with “plan” of using ltir to become cap complient at beginning of season.

I know you won’t answer because you know you’re wrong they ABSOLUTELY could’ve fit him by moving Jvr. They actually probably could’ve fit him without moving him but I’ll wait to hear how dumb I am and more rope.

Let’s see your answer cap expert

Everything single thing you've posted here is shear stupidity. You're also making statements and attributing to me that I have not made. Everything you mentioned here has already been discussed and dealt with. Each post you make, you change things and create your own reality. You are acting like a complete idiot and I'm done with you. You don't have the ability to look within and realize how stupid you're being. Starting with your nonsense of calling Gaudreau a done deal.

"teams can use ltir in off season to to account for 10% overage and"

This statement alone is further evidence that you don't understand the cap. You're also full of it because you didn't learn that LTIR can be used in the offseason until I told you it could.

Done with you. It's waste of time to explain the most simplest of things to you.

well yeah. the pens dont necessarily need to be compliant now. but they NEED to move a defenseman. And if i was a potential trading partner id squeeze the (frank) out of them for it. Sort of like i wish teams would have done to Tampa.

Please try to follow along…
Pens have to be complient now or have path.
No team goes millions over cap in July

What assets do the Flyers have to trade for Chycrun? Draftpicks? oh hell no. The Flyers have the potential to be the first team in the NHL, assuming ellis would play again, to have all top 6 dmen having a 4.6 mill cap hit+

Also, at this point, is there any point in trading JVR? Keep him until the TDL and actually acquire picks instead of giving them up.

Move on to next person to get your rocks off. Like I said in earlier post I truly hope you get help. I actually care about human life

I have never stated that Gaudreau couldn't be signed you moron. In fact I stated multiple times that they could use LTIR for Ellis and Farabee to do it. I explained why it wasn't a good idea to do that. No matter how many times it is explained to you. It won't matter.

My friends wife called her about 2pm asked her what’s going on?

Joked she should could come to buffalo that we have great hospitals.

Jg wife told her about the trade for tk to ottawa and how ottawa backed out because they never thought they’d land adb. I guess g wanted tk in ottawa according to her.

Flyers in constant touch letting jg know every step of the way what’s going on. He understands it’s on hold because they’d be over the 10% allowance. Philly let him know of some other moves in advance

My guess they will just buyout Jvr if they have too.

A buyout of JVR doesn't even get them half way there!

Ellis is done. He won’t be on team at start. You bury $ on paper in ahl. Day 1 you place Ellis on ltir then move paper and call up. Very easy to do.

Buyout of Jvr doesn’t even get them halfway there. Do I need to copy paste more you sir the master twister tried to go into bs cap reasons that you yourself proved how they could easily signed jg.

Answer the question cap expert

YES OR NO COULD THEY HAVE SIGNED JG.

NOT SHOULD THEY.
NOT OH CAP COMPLIENT NOW OR LATER

SIMPLE YES OR NO CAP EXPERT.

you won’t answer. Because that would prove you were wrong from the get go. You know this. And you can never just say simply You’re wrong.

Yep. They would also have had to make one or multiple desperate moves to sign all of the other RFA's and FA's they needed to acquire.

Back pedal. The debate was never should they or shouldn’t they.

Context and you know it.

You tried to call bs on me saying jg was still done deal to philly and when topic of trading Jvr or buy out came up you said that wouldn’t even get them halfway there. Then went into bs no team does. Millions ove cap in July. Then used excuse of cap complient paths blah blah blah. Nice try tho.

That is very cutting of you. But in fact, he could easily be right and also be consistent with what you have been saying of them needing to have a plan. Here is how.

1. Sign Gaudreau now for 10m and don't sign Nic DL. Everything else the same. That puts your current cap hit at about 7.5m over cap (10m-1.75m-0.07 of current cap space). 7.6 is less than the 10% of the 82.5, so good for now.

2. Explore trades for JVR with salary retained of at least 2.7m before opening day. If it works out, fine, if not, buy him out by then. Either way, his cap hit will drop by at least 2.7m (with buyout, that is about what it drops by)

3. Put Ellis on LTIR for the regular season, as you yourself have suggested they might well plan to. That gives you 6.25. Along with the JVR trade/buy-out, 6.25+2.7=almost 9 which is 1.4 m more than the 7.6 they needed to cover. You start opening day by being about 1.4m under the cap.

Well that’s where gms bring in actual cap experts. Not mjl’s of the world.
Most cap limit teams have to make moves on paper especially at start of season to become compliant.
With this roster of trash personally would it really matter if they used waiver or buyout would it matter if they even lost players? 90% of roster is garbage anyways.

Actually might even be a plan to rid garbage that no one wants anyways. Not ideal but a start maybe
