Basically. I’d look to move TK in favor of one of these wing prospects we’re supposed to have to free up some space to keep Sanhiem. Zamula hopefully stepping up too so they don’t have to overpay a guy like Braun or worse, a cooked guy like Yandle again. - hereticpride

Think of it this way…. During political virus bs and no fans and lost revenue how much did they lose? Here let me look of flyers financials and do some research. I bet it’s not much. Which would prove my point to a tee - Stayin alive
I'll save you the trouble.
It was estimated the league lost more than 500 MILLION DOLLARS playing in empty stadiums. Average of $1.7M per game supposedly.
Divide that by 31 and you get an idea of how much it hurt the Flyers. |

Michkov & Fantilli are solid #1 overall picks in any other year.
I want a top 3 pick and it is absolutely possible to do. |

Average of 20-25% of gate revenues are attributed to the team's cut of food, beverage, on-site merch sales and parking.
Gate revenues on average account for 35-40% of total team revenues.
If half the arena are paid no-shows, they'll most definitely feel it. - Tomahawk
Yes they’ll feel it
I wonder how much % they get from lincenses naming rights corp sponsorships on and on and on. Yep that would be 100%. In the grand scheme of things they don’t care about the fans money as long as priority 1 is taken care of.
Put it this way… in todays nhl or sports world in general can a team survive on just gate/parking/concession money? Money from fans in the stands? Nope
Can teams survive on corp money alone ? Abso(frank)inglu they can and do.
Where priority 1.
The fact cf and especially Scott are still employed shows they could not care less about fans |

The NHL only made it thru Covid bc the players "loaned" the owners money (aka they only took a portion of their salaries).
The owners still haven't finished paying that back (why we have a flat cap).
Unless the NHLPA plans on agreeing to across the board salary cuts, there's no way most teams can survive missing a chunk of gate revenues. |

Yep👍🏻And you are the guy who’s opinion is fact. The biggest bumhole to ever grace this site. It is what it is. Defender of Risto trade and Ellis move. Now against it. We know. We know. But doesn’t say he was defender of cf and team for longest time yet critiques those that still do because opinion has changed. We know. Your credibility is at zero.
If you want to knock my credibility for stated what I clearly said I was told then my credibility was right on cc to Ottawa. 50/50 1/2. Still better than you. Suck on those numbers - Stayin alive
You're making yourself look like a clown by claiming that I defended the Ristolainen and Ellis trades. I have also never defended the hire of Fletcher. In fact as was adamantly against the firing of Hextall. You must be on drugs or badly confused
All you did was look at the rumors and take a stab at Giroux going to Ottawa. You were right but you did not have the inside info that you claimed to. When it comes to Gaudreau, you fabricated 90% of it and you know it. It's blatantly obvious. |

Possible. It looks definite. Even if they are completely healthy which they aren’t. They just truly lack top end talent. I watched like 8 games last year and that was early when they were winning a little. But they weren’t good.
I doubt Tortorella and whatever else you call this off-season is going to drag them out of the basement. |

So a league that generates over 5BILLION is estimated to lost 500 MILLION during no fans in stands. Divide that on average out per team
So roughly 10% lost to NO FANS.
Thank you for your help.
The flyers could not care less about fans in stands. Surely they can find a way to make that 10% up. Idk spitballing here.
1)hire a coach to feed profits through publicity
2) create a stupid mascot to generate money and distract from product on ice
3) just on and on.
Small slice of pie is the average fan. I wonder what a suite cost to license in Philly. |

This is utter stupidity. 500M divided by 32 teams is 15+M lost revenue per team. That is a huge number. Huge.

Come on man you know better.
“The only reason the league made it through was because players loaned to owners money” think about that for a minute.
The flyers only made it because the players loaned Comcast money.
I mean aren’t the players screaming about escrow because they know their getting absolutely (frank)ed. At least right now.
And this isn’t 1980. Is there even a team NOT owned or backed by billionaire or corp billionaire? Again 5 billion in revenue. They league is extremely healthy and can EASILY sustain itself |

Good point! The Flyers franchise is f’eed with Fletcher and Scott and whoever is behind the curtain making these decisions.
It will take 5+ years to dig out from the decisions being made under this management team. |

I still think it made no sense to sit him. We were already long out of the playoffs. Sitting him meant playing Kevin Connauton, Nick Seeler or Ronnie Attard. I’d rather watch Yandle play without skate blades then to see those 3. |

The Flyers :
-Have a new coach who has told everyone when he's retiring before even having his first practice
-An analytics dept head who had never done analytics before being given charge of the entire dept.
-A PP coach who likes to fight his own players
-A GM who only became a GM because Bobby Clarke worshipped his father and hired him based on that single fact.
-bought out a young player despite their being a market for him and was only bought out so the Flyers could sign the worst statistical offensive player to a 4 year deal.
-traded 3 draft picks for a controversial defenseman despite no other known suiters and it being a JG deal killer with JG being plan A and B for the team.
-Got taken to the woodshed in the above Canes trade considering they were able to get a better defenseman for the same price.
-signed enough pluggers to make sure the young guys don't get playing time.
-lament not having "high end talent" and sign the least talented/upside players available.
-required everyone signed to either be a friend of Hayes or from Chuck's tenure in Minnesota. - Flyers_01

15 million is nothing to Comcast. When they do their taxes much less of a loss.
This is a toy for them. The arena itself is their main concern. As long as the at is filled year round is the pie in the sky. That is why the are very unlikely to sell the team. |
