Probably not.
If he is ready after a year he'll sign with the Flyers. Why risk a bad injury trying to wait out the 4 years to be a free agent. - J35Bacher

He probably doesn't care but if I was Ron Hextall. I'd be laughing my ass off. Remember when his detractors claimed he was going to be fired by the Pens? |

same, but this is funny:
The Flyers roster has been put together like a toddler being asked to put all 64 Crayola crayons back in their original spot in the box. They might get a few right, but mostly they are going to be wrong fits, or partly broken. - Scoob
lol, finally read it. That was funny.
Also:
And if Scott doesn’t see that. If he’s too busy listening to the whispers in his ear being provided by personal hockey consultants, then it’s time for forced retirement.
They all need to go.

Nah, none of them are involved.
It couldn't be more obvious. |

If they can buyout Lindblom because it’s a business then they can be fired because it’s a business. - NC Flyers Fan
Definitely! Problem is they put Fletcher in a place with no one left above him to keep him in check. Yes, there's Dave Scott, but Scott has repeatedly vouched for him, which should be alarming to most people, but not really surprising given Scott is not a hockey guy. |

The root of the problem is Comcast. They simply do not care about the on ice product. This won’t be fixed until the team is sold. Dave Scott doesn’t know what he’s doing and we’ll never hear from any of his higher ups.
People really need to stop spending money on this team. It’s the only thing fans can do that will make a difference. |

Womder what happens when revenue projections start to come in light -- does Comcast start to reign in capital expenditures from the FLyers? I mean they could half the analytical department to save some cash |

I’m telling you they’re so brain dead that they’ll just shift the focus off hockey as much as possible. Mrs Gritty is coming this season. |

I don't know.
This time seems different. I have never seen the WHOLE fan base agree on something like what is going on now. I am not sure they distract from this. |

They don’t give a flying (frank) about the fan base.
They are in entertainment business
Asses in the seats or some form of spending money.
Profits.
Clearly they don’t care about the fans. |

I have been a Flyers fan for 25 years. I check this and other sites daily as a hockey fan and for Flyers news and stories. I have enjoyed this team very much over the years.
But I realized that I am not enjoying this. The directionless mismanagement of players, assets, and the core spirit of what I believed the Flyers values to be are making me feel apathetic in a way that I havent felt before.
I think I'm done with this.
Bill Meltzer is one of the best hockey writers on this site...not just this site actually...and I can't help but feel, from the tone of his posts over this season, that he similarly is ...disappointed? Disgusted? with this team. I do hope the team reads or listens to all of his written and spoken output because I trust him as being able to encapsulate the voice of knowledgeable hockey/flyers fans.
Rant over. I dont feel better. Going back to skulk around this site in anonymity. Maybe.

They surely care about the fan base showing up. Are they supposed to care about each person individually or something? It is a business.

Pics and vid of the picks and nd risto throwing some hits.
The occasional goal goal going in clips
End with some thunderous drawn out bass music note with 5 second still pic of clarke.

As a fellow long time fan. It really is disheartening to be so disgusted with the team that you love.

They could care less if 1 person is in those seats. I know you think you know business. You don’t. I’ll tell you what they care about. Money. If they sell season tickets and no one shows up guess what. They don’t care. If they sell license deals to corp and make tons of money they don’t care who shows up.
The bottom line is profits. Comcast owning the flyers still makes profits. And it’s not from just people in stands. Yes that helps. Flyers for now still make them money in the long run. |

Thing is Scott has given Fletcher every opportunity to turn this around. Given that the last few years have been horrible and a portion of that outcome had to do with injuries, Covid and just bad luck, I understood giving him this offseason. Up until this year, I think Fletcher/Flahr had a really good drafting record. This being a weak draft, okay, but there were many RHD to be had. Yet, the Flyers pass on arguably the best of the class and don’t have a shot at any others late in the first or into the second round because they had no pick there. The very next day, they ship out three draft picks and spend big on a RHD, noting how thin the organization is at that position. ASF, Bill, Charlie and others have detailed the rest of this strange offseason of moves which hasn’t had an identifiable plan.
For the record, I would have been happy with a reset year. Torts, the new coaching staff, turn around the team game, get everyone on the same page, hope that some young players rebound, take steps, breakout and at the very least reclaim some of their value as an asset in trade. This approach would have the Flyers accumulate as many draft picks as possible for the next two drafts, especially 2023. Work to develop young players and new prospects and see what they have before trying to acquire talent thru free agency or trades, attempting to do so from a stronger position as a young up and coming team. If this had been the plan clearly laid out before us as fans, do you suppose things would be different now? We were told that it would be an aggressive re-tool similar to 2019. Buying out Lindblom was not the breaking point, it is the evidence that it was already broken. It’s the why that was even “needed.” Did that cap space make the team better? Did we get value back for a young NHLer? No and no.
Time is up. Fans should consider walking away and let it burn if nothing is changed.
