Sabres are super young with a dynamite prospect pool in a (frank)ing ridiculous division. I'm cool if the plan is to be a cup contender in 3 or 4 years. Tampa and Boston should be done by then, Toronto could be in flames by then. Florida, Ottawa, Detroit and Buffalo should be the big 4 when we are worried about overpaying people on July 1st.

It is a difference in philosophy. We aren't trying to make the playoffs next year, we are trying to win a championship. Incremental upgrades this year don't get us closer to that. The fastest and best way to it is to develop from within.

I'd much rather be us than teams like Columbus or Dallas. If you aren't building or trying to maintain then you are chasing.
