I can't get behind the Lyubushkin deal. I dont mind a defense first d-man, but he acheieves that by neutering the 5v5 offense of the unit he's on. A more balanced d-man would've been ideal.

He'll play at 5v5, thats where he hurts their offense. Id certainly hope, given the options, he'd never see PP time.

Over $5 million for a guy who never scored more than 15 goals in a season seems a bit high to me. I know he is more than that but still

He can play center or wing at a high level, and he's excellent defensively. He's also tough and physical.

I view Comrie as a guy who’s needed an opportunity to get NHL minutes. Not a lot of chances to do that in Winnipeg and didn’t get to settle in elsewhere. He’ll get his chance in Buffalo. Has to seize it.


So of all the other possibilities he was the best of the "unknown/unproven" guys

Yeah by far Imo.

It seems as though - as of right now - the Leafs are actually a little worse than they were last year.

Copp is way more than points.

They weren't going big game hunting in net after Gibson said no, 2 year deal is more than enough time to prove it.

Could be a huge signing or he could just be an average goalie which after last season I would take.
