Well, then maybe he will have 3 rookies on defense to start the season as well.

Maybe he expected to clear more cap space before today? Otherwise, it made no sense.

But he did make a big trade, so there is that.

are you doing this on purpose, or are you really convinced they don't already have 4 veteran dmen?

I think he did most of his stuff at the draft, from an aggressive perspective.

Petry trade is likely the only card left.

- Mashadar

no no, he said he'd be aggresive on the UFA market.
that didn't make sense then, and it doesn't make sense today either.

You should see him tell agents to go (frank) themselves when they say no to a lowball offer.

He's as aggressive as he can be.

- Scabeh

This is the way.

Did not see the context of that quote, TBH, perhaps he meant in general going forward than historically the Habs have done over the last 20 years.

Being aggressive with signing UFAs when they see a good opportunity/in a good position to add a UFA.

I told you about Wideman and the fact he was the 7th defenseman for me.

I actually tried to make the line up on defense and came up with this :

Edmundson- Petry
Harris-Savard
Guhle-Barron
Wideman

Of course they could overplay Wideman on the top 4. And use a duck as a 7th defenseman or shoeman.

if they were trying to win, sure, but right now I don't see the point of slotting him as a 7th... anyway, it's all good, we'll see what happens.

Canadiens Montréal @CanadiensMTL

The Canadiens have agreed to terms with defenseman Madison Bowey and forwards Anthony Richard and Mitchell Stephens on one-year, two-way contracts for the 2022-23 season.

I gotta say, the chicken isn't wrong here.

Of course the summer is far from over.

And since Wideman is a RHD, if Petry stays, that means we're getting a LHD veteran defenseman IF Hughes/St-Louis stick to the original plan.

Pu grand place pour Petry, surtout si Klingberg resigne avec Dallas.

Anyway, aux dernières nouvelles les offres n'étaient pas bonnes.

something is wrong with Carolina. good team, but weird moves. the kk offersheet and contract extension, signing DeAngelo, trading for Burns...
like if they were able to build a good team, but unable to take the next step and become a winner.

At this point in time, the last thing the Habs need to do is being aggressive on the UFA market.

Today should be "Unload Bad Contracts Day" for us ... easier said than done because we need to find buyers for our crap.

nobody is taking any of our bad contracts. not unless we retain 50%, and even then.
Petry may go once all UFA dmen are off the board, but that's about it.

He's still got around 50-55 points last season I think and Sanjose retains 33% of his salary.

I don't think that's crazy.

The thing with KK was kind of dumb, true.

I could see a team trading for Anderson, but mtl may want to keep him.

Read some teams had interest in Dvorak. But again, they may want to keep him, even with Dach.
