No. Stop selling all assets in one trade. Murray will involve Holl at best and picks/prospects.
Who cares about softening the blow? Senators can keep him and if he's injured they don't even pay him. Insurance does. - Aaron_85
No thanks but thanks for your input.
I think Kerfoot is gone regardless and I think this is the best opportunity to get the most back for him...so I am including him sorry |

Because Ottawa is a budget team and its already a tough pill for them to have to pay Murray not to play. He is owed 15 M in the next 2 years.
Kerfoot at 750K helps them soften the blow and its an opportunity to get more back they his value. - Santo_44
Both teams have needs in this deal. I can’t see it being as big and as lopsided as you suggest. Maybe one additional player going there and maybe but less likely one coming back. There’s more chance of other players being involved with a possible 3rd party team. |

Ah I see. You dont value kerfoot above a cap dump.
I think you're in a minority. |

No
Kerfoot has a lot of value to Ottawa, especially if they have to eat salary from Murray. They would give up more than he is worth in this scenario. |

I disagree I think Ottawa is losing in this trade and they know it.
Take advantage of them. |

How is adding kerfoot them losing? Youre trying to soften their blow but who cares? That isn't Dubas job. He needs to make the best of his assets.
You want to dump kerfoot for a lesser return. |

Yes I am because it will cost Ottawa assets. I want the best possible trade for Kerfoot and I believe this is it.
Oh boy.
I do not want to dump Kerfoot for a lesser return, I believe this trade will get him the best return. |

If the Leafs are getting Murray on the cheap, than it's also possible that they'll go into the season with a Marlies goaltender as the backup. It leaves them cap space to fix other holes in the lineup and they wait until the trade deadline for a goaltender to be acquired from a team out of the playoffs. The Leafs are good enough to be a top 2 team in the Atlantic with average goaltending and can upgrade going down the stretch. The other priority is moving Muzzin or Sandin and fixing the hole on the right side of the defense.
If Murray is acquired and gets injured, it's cap relief going forward. |

If Connor Brown is part of this deal, you can move on from Kase.

Yeah and I disagree. If you think his best deal is tossing him into an Ottawa deal to help offset salary then you don't see Kerfoot with any value.
Its fine. I simply disagree. I think kerfoot has the same value with other teams with better assets. |

This makes zero sense. I already stated why I think he has the most value in this deal and just go back and read it ffs. Done trying to explain this to you for you to put words in my mouth and say something completely different.
Its okay to disagree but stop saying I want to dump Kerfoot because if you read back you be able to read I think this is the best time to trade him to get the most value back. |

Buy low for a guy who has talent and has showed sparks of still being good. Surround him with a better team in front of him with the low cap hit. Not a bad idea.
Also Comrie would be wise to sign in Toronto given the opportunity for him so there is that too. - Santo_44
if the Leafs can get their goalie combo to the same amount it was last year, they'll be in good shape with the cap.
say Murray @ 3.125M via trade
say Comrie @ 1.4M via signing
type of thing |

Sens also getting Chychrun - Canada Cup
Id be ok in trading for Chychrun.
May cost willie.
Then the leafs can find a stop gap for two years to replace willie until one of our prospects are ready |

So Holl replaces Z for cheaper.
Throw Kerfoot in there at 750K.
Ottawa comes out of this deal happy with saving money. Leafs get cap relief and some assets. - Santo_44
Kerfoot M-NTC has kicked in so I'd say he'd say no to Ottawa |

10 teams.
4 hour drive from Toronto, team on the rise, in Canada.
There are other teams that could easily be on it before Ottawa. |
