Hey Rico. I was just making the point that the Hawks would struggle to draw FAs this year regardless of who was on the team. The argument was made “what FA would want to sign with the Hawks outside of scrubs?”. I just aid it wouldn’t matter. - Chunk
I hear you Chunk and agree to an extent. Who the hell wants to play for what will be a team tanking for a yr or two? No, a Kadri type ain't coming but this is an NHL team, there is a hard cap that limits options and makes good players available with few spots for them and guys looking for ice time and most importantly opportunity.
The opportunity to get the ice time to show the league they can play. They'll get a few free agents I'm sure and hopefully they can be moved for assets. Again, what if Mrazek plays lights out? Be wonderful to move him for a 2nd or 1st at the TDL. Maybe not but they're still holding that lottery ticket in hand for the possibility.

Toews to Minnesota? - Assman22 Nice fit and a damn fun team to be a part of. If Johnny has anything left in the tank this kinda squad would get his juices flowing.
Hoping for good things and landing spots for Kaner and Johnny.

He is only 25 to plays the game the hawks want to play going forward. So maybe him and frost for a 5th in 2024 - Scott1977
Scott, what do the Hawks have that a cap team Philly club who wants to win now would want for Koneckny? Why would the Hawks want a 25 yr old that does not fit their rebuild timeline at 5.5 per for 3 more yrs? ....... The only reason for the Hawks would be to trade a Koneckny type but why wouldn't Philly do that, plus the Hawks have nothing that would help Philly win today to acquire him.
Think along the lines of JVR and a prospect or high pick to take his salary. Maybe Murphy with salary retained for a high pick/prospect. .......
But a Koneckny type to the Hawks makes no sense for them or what the Hawks have to offer to another club for that type of player. Add a Koneckny type would make the Hawks better and might push them up from being one of the 3 worst teams next yr. |

Always liked koneckny. But at this who knows what Davidson and company are doing there letting kubalik and strome possibly walk with no assets coming back.

Will be!! Another kd fail already behind the eight ball with dcat trade by not getting enough in return. The dach trade is questionable and other deal was alright but net enough in return then the pick was confusing in a way you trade a center and there is a playmaking center with high ceiling, imo. In lambert and go with a defenseman again in which was projected in the late 2nd and 3rd. So who knows anymore so most likely get neck cramps from shaking our heads. |

It sounds like the Leafs are talking to Ottawa about Matt Murray. Moving on from Mrazek only to go with Murray makes no sense. Neither have been great and Murray is hardly an upgrade.

Mrazek, Jones (both of them), Murphy, McCabe, Toews, Johnson (both of them). Don’t worry, the opportunities are boundless. |

Here's the roster for the July 11-15 (tomorrow through Fri) development camp. Several of the recent draftees to be there.

Hmm.....
I thought they moved on from Parker Foo years ago, not sure they even have his rights any more, not that it matters.
Get to see mystery men Gorman and the tall tree (Tohila) from Finland.
Serpa 69 pts in 62 games in Kitchener as a 20 yr old - Rockford?
Wise is coming to camp, maybe he can show enough to be signed.
Krutil also, maybe is coming back across the pond.
Looks like there could be some signings for Rockford after the camp is done.

Philly is not dangling JVR they are begging you to take him. He will COST them assets to get rid of. Koneckny would be considered dangling as he has value but none to the Hawks for many reasons I laid out. At 25, 5,5 per for 3 more yrs, Hawks will be tanking for the next 2 at least, he'd make them better and they wanna get worse to insure a bottom 3 finish next yr.
The Hawks are letting Strome and Kubalik walk for nothing? If they could get any assets for them wouldn't they have done that already?

This Sherpa kid is not on the list. Must be an undrafted tryout? |

So, without Strome, Kubalik, and looking likely Kane, where are we going to find enough forwards to ice a team in both CHI and Rockford? Will we be able to attract enough free agents / PTO candidates to fill the open slots without risking repeating the pattern of not letting the kids develop properly, both skill and confidence? - pdx2ord
Dylan Sikura will be available to sign. |

Totally untrue, Elbows.
Defensively his game is about timing and an active stick to reach in and steal pucks.
He actually doesn't stray too far from playing a more safeguard defensive position, less willing to try to go in for the kill.
Sure, we will be waiting for more physicality - wiz1901

My guess is a minimum of 2 years. I hope going forward that unless a prospect is a potential superstar or is fully developed, (very unlikely) the hawks leave them in junior and even use the AHL for a period of time to try to have a player ready to compete in the NHL offensively, defensively, physically and mentally. |

Someone here wrote, could have been Wiz, that Kski has to spend 2 more years in the WHL due to his age. A couple of more years in Rockford is fine with me. Let's not rush things with these kids. |

That is a cool link, thanks. Had no idea that was on there.
Looks like Mobley, Serpa, and Huard were never drafted and could be signed.
Wise and Demin would have to be signed by August or rights are lost.
The goalie Persson listed there was drafted by the Capitals in the 2022 3rd round, so they will have to find another one.
From the chart, seems like not just Russians, but everyone who played in the KHL, has no rights expiration. So Foo, like Kayumov and Shalunov, is stuck with the Blackhawks forever.
