It will be more hilarious if they don't need to spend on contracts what everyone is supposedly thinking. But hey a few more years. |

Murray a 3rd and a 7th with 25% retained by Ottawa for future considerations.
Done.

I hope we put 7 on him every time we play them. |

If the Sabres and Adam’s really wanted to, he could easily overpay for a few guys on 3 year deals, get competitive right now and not give up any assets. That bridges the gap until our top prospects just drafted make the team and our future core grow up and have experience winning. Again, while retaining all our assets.
Malkin, 3 year 33 million
Strome 3 year 16 million
Klingberg 3 year 24 million
Samsonov 3 year 12 million
Skinner/Tage/Olof
Krebs/Malkin/Tuch
Mitts/Strome/Cozens
Aspland/Zemgus/Okposo
Dahlin/Samuelson
Power/Klingberg
Bryson/joker
Samsonov
Upl
Anderson
Zero chance it happens. But it can be done, we are a legitimate contender and hold all our assets.
Quinn and JJ will have to wait a year in the Roc but are first call ups. They make the team next year when Zemgus and Okposo are gone.
I am now GM of the year |

We left the 2015 draft with
Eichel
Oreilly
Samsonite
Kane/molson/Okposo (all were still considered good)
Lehner. On our roster
Ya, that team ended up sucking but on paper it is way better then what our lineup is currently. I rather have our team now but it will take some time - Fattony1187
That was masterful. He didn’t give up anything worth a damn to acquire anyone either. Trade for Kane when he was injured and would not contribute to improving the team that year was genius. It went wrong because GMTM got fired for not firing Bylsma. Inmates were given the go ahead to run the asylum after that. The presser he gave before he got poop canned was great too. Loved how he said he might not make it back from his Florida visit with Pegula and he didn’t. |

Wonder if it really is market rate. There's a lot of sub-1m 3rd pair guys. Is there really a significant difference between him Pysyk? Not that any of that matters when you're below the floor. - Lunaion
Evolving Hockey predicted $1.6M per for 2 years for Bryson, which is damn close to what he got.
Evolving Hockey didn't pick their numbers out of thin air. |

I wasn't talking EH. Just what a run of the mill 3LD is making. It's one of the most easily replaceable positions in hockey and a position you wouldn't spend money on....if the cap mattered.

I heard half of PHam's update earlier today. Did he say that Ottawa might have had a trade of #16 OA worked out with Chicago before Murray declined? If so I wonder what that might have looked like. I would assume that Chicago was getting another piece if that was the case. |

I was wondering this too. I would hope so, but I'm not sure.
The way they drafted makes me think they wanted Marco Kasper too. If they took Kasper at 7, I wonder what the wings do.
Savoie was my top prospect, I am very happy we got him. |
