They will add 4/5/6 depth. Last year it was Hagg, Butcher, Pysyk. I expect similar additions. - Sir Tindoom

I would give up are 2nds next year, wouldn't want to use are 1st in either deal. Wonder if Buffalo would use one of there picks from this year in a Kane or Gibson deal, not Savoie or Kulich. |

I doubt it will happen but for Gibson you can use your 2nds next year and Portillo or Levi.
Kane you can use Olo as a big piece, plus it helps Adam’s not give him a long term contract when he will prob be a 3rd liner when our prospects are ready. Whatever 2nd you don’t use next year, Rosen or Johnson.
Anything more than that stuff and I’m passing |

Oh I would to, to me it's a sell tickets move. But if a goalie came here cause of it, could be a bonus |

Ideally, you keep the Flyers 2nd with how bad they look to be, and you may want to keep the Sabres 2nd pending what they look like.
Interesting you say not Savoie or Kulich when they took Kulich 28th, and they took Ostlund 16th. |

Just my preference, not that I would use any of them. But I didn't really like that pick |

Yeah, I would try to include Johnson before having to use them all. |

So now the fans, including myself here; have a closer idea of the real perception of the team throughout the league. Does every player and agent feel the same?. Hell no, that's impossible. Does Gibson' s and Murray's perception represent the majority of players and agents? Who knows factually, but it certainly has some merit as being a significant view.
Now, what does that mean to fans? Why is it relevant?
In the context of fans wanting Adam's to go get players, with "no excuses" considered, the just get it done crowd...the why wait till next year group. Maybe consider the impact of that perception on his timeline for bringing in impact players. Perhaps he knew, like the Bills did back several seasons ago, that they have significant work to do to change that perception and it takes a fair amount heavy lifting and time to do so...and they just aren't done.
So, the same group criticizing Adams' FO team now, is likely the same group of fans who wanted McBeaner gone after year 1 AND who regularly chided the "Trust the Process" mantra that now after significant heavy lifting done over years has the team positioned a a serious Super Bowl Contender.
Chew on that before being so dismissive. It is p,aying out right j front of you but you refuse to see the forest for the trees. |

Still doesn't change the fact 2 players said NO, one might not even play in the NHL if he doesn't get traded. Perception is everything, and the perception of the Sabres Organization is obviously Bad. Is that on Adams No, but just drafting isn't gonna change that perception. |

Even though the thought is the old school eye test duo of Forton and Devine were behind the Ostlund pick, there's talk that the Sabres statistic nerdery were actually behind the pick, as there's supposedly stats out there that show Ostlund drove the bus, not Ohgren.
Just an informational note that may mean Ostlund has more promise then it seems. |

I read up on the kid, he needs to get bigger if he wants to play the game he does now. He's got talent, I would have taken Miro there.

Assuming Pilut signs, current projected defense for next season
Top Pair
Samuelsson-Dahlin
2nd Pair
Power-Jokiharju
3rd Pair
Bryson/Pilut/Fitzgerald
Should we be trying to upgrade?
Sure
But if we can’t/don’t for whatever reason….
I don’t hate that defensive lineup
It’s just very thin if there’s any injuries,
especially in the top4 - jdfitz77
They will always be looking to add or upgrade but I think the vast majority of the roster is set right now. That's not a bad looking D at all.

I still feel, you almost never want to give out an 8 year deal. Only if player is 24 or less and a superstar. A good reason they look for trades or lower cost FA (with less term).
I would rather do shorter deals with a tad higher AAV than term. Make the player work for those additional years.
NHL should consider moving max term to like 7 years (own team) and 6 via FA. 8 is way too long. |

I would seriously consider Nazem Kadri. Dudes a beast. Give him 9mil |

I tend to agree here. Another RD would be nice, but don’t want to overpay to get it.
Order of Improtance:
G
G
Winger
RD
Hopefully he can make some magic during FA (via trades too). |

They said no to the trade. That is NOT the same as saying no to the team, the city, etc. Gerbe also said that he said no for reasons that had nothing to do with us. Why do so many of you want to wallow in this? If we wander over to Toronto board are they whining about MAF turning down a trade to go there?
Sure, the perception probably isn't ideal. All it takes is continued winning and that easily gets wiped away.

You can't give a 30 year old second line center 9 million dollars a year for 7 years (as I am sure he will want). You especially don't do it as a team that is building.
