My opinion not taking Kasper kemmel or lambert are big misses. So Davidson wasn't getting what he wanted in trade demand then why t r ade dcat why not keep him and build around him and make him the next captain and face of the franchise. - Scott1977
I like Nazar better than any of those three. I definitely would have taken a flyer on Lambert at 25. Especially considering Rinzel is a guy they could have taken in the 2nd round. And if not, there were others that would be available. Lambert has top 10 skills and maybe falling in the draft kicks him in the ass to play to his level more consistently.
I am mixed on Korchinski. Maybe if he and Nazar were flipped it would look better. All we can do is hope those 2 make it to the NHL. The odds for NHL players really drop off after 20. |

Should have taken the Russian that WASH took, since they have the 5 year plan
He'll be the best player in the draft |

Hence nazar Kasper lambert. But it doesn't matter now. We as fans just wait and see how things play out then next few years. |

The whole 2nd and 3rd rounds were reaches. Every one picked was ranked much lower by some draft evaluators. - Elbows15
Does that matter if his draft picks end up betting better pro's? Don't care what they are ranked before they are drafted |

I was thinking the same, seeing him at the draft he even looks like Iginla |

Disagree. Kane showed no signs of slowing down last season. He can be a terror on a good team and worth every penny. - fvineze
Disagree? I was just responding to the idea that any team who gets Kane is going to only have him for a year, so they wouldn't pony up assets. I think many teams would, but especially if he gives a hint he will stay after the '23 season. |

If KD is relying on outside sources to determine where he's going to draft kids then we are screwed, but it sure looks like he's got his own board and what their value is, it's the way i would do it.
Isn't that what yzerman did with Moritz Seider, no one expected that and as of now he's the best player in that draft for now. |

Honestly I don't think you can compare KD to Yzerman, even in a relativity sense. Yzerman has a track record as a GM - KD and his scouting area, not nearly as much -if any. |

Time will only tell where these drafted players end up. Shaw for example pass over 2 drafts then selected in 5th round. I sure everyone is little or a lot disappointed. With the dcat if he would've be offered sheeted and the hawks did not match the 9 million fir example that would have been the compensation. |

Sure i can, if he can see undeveloped talent like Yzerman its a good thing. Didn't they say if Korchinski wasn't there they were going to draft Kasper |

wanna bet? Even if no other moves are made, the roster is the worse in the league and will be for a couple of season.
The Hawks have become the Buffalo Sabres. - Elbows15
This team won’t be that good. |

There were reports that said Holland asked him to retire. That is how. And thank you, your parents raised a fine human being.
Is it normal for a GM to ask a player under contract if they are going to retire? Yes, you better believe there was some arm twisting there. The player is still under contract, buy him out if you don't want him playing. Boy did they fool you. - powerenforcer
No, the report was that Holland asked Smith and Keith to determine what their intentions were for next year, as both indicated that next season was not a certainty. This was completely justified considering their age and minaret at the end of the year.

If he set the market at 3 1st round picks and everyone told him to pound sand, then he didn't. He just realized the market wasn't what he thought it was. - Chunk
Technically he got 3 first round picks. Albiet in 3 seperate trades |

New blog! A review of the Blackhawks picks during Day 2 of the NHL Draft where speed, relentlessness, and compete level were the common themes.
Plus, brief thoughts on how Duncan Keith's retirement impacts Chicago's salary cap due to a recapture penalty.
