In a hockey fantasy league I'd go Cooley.
In real life, Wright.

Absolutely.

This team has been having so many issues getting good centers since the 90's. Can't believe they would pass on Wright.

Yeah...

Some people are worried that he's uni-dimensional, but you can't teach offensive instincts and skill.

I'd rather have the punch of Cooley-Suzuki than having 2 2-way centers.

Absolutely…

Who would like to have Bergeron and Datsyuk on same team…

So stupid…

I would not be very happy if they pick Saff but not as discouraged than when they passed on Tkatchuk for KK…

If they make a deal and they pick another talented Center…. Maybe it would not be that bad…

Wright is no Mario Lemieux so I think the difference between Wright and Gauthier is not abysmal….

I'll be happy who ever the select.
I'd be very happy if they get another 1st round pick.
I'd be ecstatic if they manage to ship a few contracts out.

Really hope they draft Wright. Reminds of Bergeron and it would be a shame if they didn’t take him. Especially since we always need quality centres since Vinny Damphousse was shipped out. Koivu being an exception imo.

I mean... I will trust HuGO, whichever way they go.

Regardless, I will still be pissed if they do not take Wright.

And that is the Hot Take you have been wanting from me all day.

(Since I will be doing IT Upgrades during the draft, rather than watching, likely no further comments til the draft hangover wears off at some point Friday afternoon.)

Always hard to say this until the kid had played at least 5 years but I would agree with you that it would not be easy for Wright to reach that level…

euh, and mostly your point was if they are good, you can have two 2 way center on the same team ( not compare Shane and Pavel)

Never cared for Turgeon when he came to town. Mostly a soft, spineless dude here. His tenure was small and didn’t care for him at all. Never really the same after that horrible hit from back with the Islanders.

Edit: I’m aware koivu was a second line centre. But he was a warrior, battled for everything. Cancer, almost going blind from Williams, the early career knee injuries etc. Played in any scenario asked of him during his time here. Koivu will always have my respect.

Turgeon, it is Hall of Fame and over 500 goals and more than a point per game for over 1000 games…

After he was traded, he had several over 20 goals seasons…. He was not very gritty but I would have kept him on the team a bit more and play Saku 2nd Center during that time…

Absolutely…. I have no problem having 2 two way centers racking over 70 points each on my team…

I think you can win a cup with that…. Not only that but let’s say it would be a damn good base…

Turgeon isn’t in the hall of fame. Nor will he get there. Vinny won’t either, but I’d take him over Pierre. 100 points separate them in their careers. Also preferred his game, not a complete wuss. Either way, to each their own.

gotta keep a spot open for Bedard.
what if they see a center next year, in the 2023 draft, that they like a lot?
the world doesn't end with this draft here. they have a complete team to build, needs everywhere. take the bpa and move on.
