Nice start for HuGo ... I can live with that until we fill out the rest of the roster.

I'm happy. 2 6'4 forwards, 18 and 21 y/o, talented.
not ecstatic though, we were't able to ship a contract out.

FWIW, there were some mentions that his team mates weren't enamored with Dach's attitude. I always take the poop that comes out after a player is moved with a barge of salt.

He seems like a guy who gets in his own head at time and get frustrated with himself. Also. for some reason other teams take runs at him and his physicality is inconsistent. He can physically impose his will at times and others? not so much.

TBF. I think his wrist injury was so horrific that he has yet to recover emotionally from it. IMO, it also hindered his summer training prior to last season.

doesn't matter if he doesn't play like he is 6'4. And at times, Dach doesn't.

He is vg defensively, tho and i have a feeling this is going to be a really bad trade for the hawks.

i hope he sucks, tho.

I honestly feel this is less about Dach, and more about tanking next year.

I *hope* Dach lives up to good potential. But this? Will be the turning point between both. Let's hope our team know what's better. (not far away, with the picks...)

yes, I don't see him as a prolific forward, but a responsible one. a bit like Toews (best case scenario)

The Hawks were going to be bad anyway. Being the worst only gives you about a 20% of getting the top pick.

Tanking is a bad move. It instills a loser mentality in the organization.

If nothing else, I'm glad that Luke moves ahead with a prospect he knows. So I want us to win first? Of course. But a Cup for Darron-Ann? I'll sacrifice that every day.

Interesting analysis, in the end he cost us a left D (Romanov) and some late picks ... we have an abundance of those (LD and picks) coming down the pipeline.
Romanov is a good D but he'll never be more than what he currently is.

Dach is only 21, has good size and he fills an immediate need at center ... he's worth the risk in my opinion as we're rebuilding and we won't be competitive for a while. If he doesn't work out then so be it.

I prefer Hutson or Warren. Luneau is weak and his skating is not good enough to compensate a la Samuel Girard.
