Seems like there are a lot of empty seats in the Bell Centre. |

Like, dude was 9th in scoring on his team and had a team worst - 30. Literally banking on his size. |

Well, disappointed they didn’t draft Wright. Really hope Slaf can turn into even 75% of a Marian Hosss or something.
As for Dach, aren’t his wrists a mess? If he’s our second line centre, I certainly hope that granny wrist is back to 100%. Been an interesting draft.
Edit: I’m concerned about the selection because Pierre McGuire is big on Slaf . It’s like a kiss of death. |

Very entertaining draft for sure.
Lots to be looking forward for next camp.

The Habs did not make that trade if they did not have full guarantee that his wrist injury was healed…
Now he had a so so season but he would never had been available if he had score 40 goals…
Now we have 1 too many Center…. With Romanov departure, I suspect they will trade for one…
But no idea who would be available…. They bring back Chiarot to mentor the kids???

I think tanking for #1 next year is really (frank)ing high on the Chicago end. I mean... Mrazek? Oy... |

Well, can't remember a more exciting and roller-coaster day at the draft as a Habs fan in a long long long time.
Need time to digest, let's see what they manage to do on day 2 and then starting Wednesday, with Free Agency.
I expect a few more roster players to be on the move.... HuGo ain't (frank)ing around! |

I really like Hughes so far, it seems he and Gorton have put together a solid plan.

It's certainly a new philosophy ... more size up front. |

hopefully in the long run it will also have been much better drafting and player development than from previous management teams, it remains to be seen but it looks promising.

Slaf is already playing against men at 18 ... his progression potential and size are probably what tilted HuGo's decision to go for him.
It's not about now but what he'll be in a few years, he also seems physically ready for the NHL at this young age.
His skillset and size seems like he could be the perfect left winger on the Suzuki-Caufield line.
