I could really have done without the Dach rumor today. I'm a Dach guy but at the same time it's natural to have doubt and wonder is this an opportunity to get as much value as you'll ever get for him? ....... Was it Stevie Y who realized he made a mistake at 3rd overall for Drouin and moved him for Sergachev before his value tanked? As they say gotta know when to hold em and know when to fold em.


Without being hyperbolic it's situations like this that can make or break a franchise for x amount of yrs. Trade Dach for a pick that gets you a big C in Kasper, Dach busts and Kasper develops into a legit 2C and you made a franchise changing move. Or a Savoie who pops as a freaky skilled 1LW. .... Of course that can work conversely, and it kills the organIzation..... GMing ain't easy man.

I'll say this, been all over Capfriendly the last week looking at fits for Dcat. I really think the Hawk pipeline is the worst in the league other than SEA. It is a dire situation with little or no room for error and they embark on it with a pretty much green front office.

Both a scary and exciting time for a Hawk's fan.
