This is enough to scare the hell out of a fan. Are they selling low or high on Dach right now? Is he at best a 3C in management's mind? If so is say the 15th overall good value? ........ I'll say this if DET is dangling the 8th the Hawks have some hard thinking to do.
That said I'm a Dach guy until he plays 350ish games and proves he's not a 2C. - Mr Ricochet
With you on this one Rico. I know Detroit's farm system is pretty good and they've hit home runs with Seider and Raymond, so if Yzerman's willing to part with a top 10 pick I'd be more than a bit leery. |

Did i miss the Cat trade yet? - BetweenTheDots
Ya, he was dealt to Detroit for a 2025 2nd round pick (top 64 protected). |

If Stevie Y is offering the 8th pick, doesn't that tell us that Dach is going to be a star? - mohel
Maybe we can get back the immortal Pius Suter

Could also tell you what Stevie thinks of what will be available at #8 too. Count me as one who likes Stevie Y's evaluating skills. Maybe that'll tell KD all he needs to know?
Assuming reports are true and IMO they seem high today for Dach.

I don't think - for some - the return matters; tolerating the suckage of the next several years will be hard for some to take. KD and Luke are in for a beating here, imo. - mohel
It may happen, but LR should only be judged on what he is able to conjure out of the roster he is given. If the roster is like last year's season end plus Reichel, that is not a whole lot to work with.
The team would be hard pressed to look as bad defensively as it looked with Colliton as coach. King did not really change the system that much, and he probably couldn't given how far they were into the season.
Davidson is more on the hot seat IMO - he was part of the brain trust and it is unlikely that he was on the right side of all of Stan's bad decisions. |

The team is expected to be bad and is going to be. Even if they retain all of the "good" players and add a couple of improvements they will still be brutal.
Davidson is not on any sort of "hot seat". He was just hired, and basically given carte blanche to remake the team. |

We finally get a big guy who can skate and dump him at 21? It would purely be KD clearing out Stan guys.

bob Mackensie is saying sounds like no QO for strome. was hoping to get something for a guy who has AVG 50 pts a season over 3-4 years and is only 25. |

My guess is that if the Hawks make a move to get a 1st round pick it's done right before the other team is about to pick. |

That's a good point.
As you're aware I was partially and good-naturedly pulling your chain (grinding your gears, in Canadian lingo). But I do respect Stevie's skills enough to give serious pause to trading Dach. |

I get the rebuild part and maybe parting with Dcat due to the high salary and potential great return. What I don't get is wanting to get rid of Dach who is a young building block on a low salary? Someone explain this to me. |

It may not be "wanting" to get rid of him. They said they are listening on everyone. If someone offers something that is considered higher value than him alone, you should listen.
There also could be an internal issue that no one here knows about. I'm not saying this is an actual thing, but you asked for some explanation and well, I like spewing my nonsense as much as anyone else. |

I am wondering if this is multi-faceted. First, the style that Richardson, and KD are talking is a fast game, with fast thinking players with some physicality.
Dach is not the swiftest from the waist down or from the neck up, and in his short career he has already had some injuries. If he is not a fit for the way they want to play, I can see him being used to acquire a 1st round pick to get a player they may be targeting who does fit their system |

I read they would love to get a 1st rounder and if they don’t trade Cat this would be the next best option. I’m not sure anyone besides those two and Kane gets you a early first rounder at this point. |

Back from a one-month stay in Japan.
Hawks just made a trade per twitter. The eyes symbol tweet-
https://twitter.com/NHLBl...amp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet
Let's see what it is. Think it might be a smaller trade like Strome/Kubalik with any major ones to be announced at the draft for effect.
Edit- Seravalli says its between the Sens and Hawks for the Cat. |
