No worries, Wolfie, there will be plenty of whining about the incompetence and poor direction taken by KD. Probably by tonight. If people were barking from 2009-2017, they'll bark about anything and everything, eh? - mohel
I get it every single complaint ever lodged is "whining". Even the most credible of critique against GMs should never be considered of course.
That said, so far it feels like Davidson has a good handle on things. I was not entirely sold on him having worked with Bowman, but possibly he learned what not to do and thus will be a great GM for the Hawks. This is going to be a tough rebuild, because the program is pretty baren. |

rangers got a pretty good return for a goalie who was .898 last year and has gotten worse every year. QO is 2.65 2 3rd and 5th. maybe there is chance on Strome. |

Why trade for Dylan when you can have Ryan as a UFA?

Tomorrow's #90, Round 3 is all that the Hawks have left from the Panarin trade.
Maybe one reason why there is some squeamishness about trading DeBrincat - yes, different situation, but still...... |

Some interesting stuff happening.
The Keith situation may impact the Hawks ability to sit on bad contracts if he retires so that may be hamstringing them a bit there. - fattybeef
No inside information here, but if you look at the cash (not cap hit) being paid to Keith at the end of this contract, I'm guessing he is using the last year of the current contract as leverage to secure some kind of extension at better than $1.5 million in take home (maybe do it through incentives) from the Oilers now. They certainly have the talent to be a playoff team every year, though maybe not close to a favorite. |

For those who think KD missed on this, that is a lot of draft capital for a rebuilding team for a goalie that would only be a place-holder. The 2023 3rd is overpay for the Hawks at this time.

With KD, this is the guy who as 'leverage' to get a better asking price for MAF on trade deadline day, allowed his asset to play (to demonstrate not bluffing), and wound up briefly playing a frenzied sequence after losing one of his gloves ...
some people call that 'hard ball' - I dunno, for me that = rookie rashness -let's see if this ends up being a trend. |

He is not the starter for Colorado Francouz is. If the league really thought of Georgiev as starter material right now, there would of been higher offers from Edmonton, Toronto or others. Looks like Edmonton is in on Campbell, Fleury resigning with Minnesota.

I doubt Francouz is the starter. |

John Dietz is saying things are “really starting to heat up” for Kirby Dach with the Wings and Jackets in play as the Hawks hope to get a 1st round pick for him.
Would be a blunder by KD IMO as we’d be selling him way low.

Would hate to lose "the Cat" but he would bring the most potential in any return however he is also young enough where he should be an impact player for the next 5-7 years. Trading that for potential is a risk. |

I would be scared what the trade with Columbus would be. That gm knows how to make a trade. Don't need him to bend us over again

I am guessing that Keith is more concerned about whether his level of play slips farther. Particularly if his skating ability worsens just a tad more. I reallyn doubt that he wants to go through the long season, although long term security for himself and his kid is the motivation. I don't say that the playoff paycheck.is a deciding factor, but it helps to increase total money in what is surely to be his final season.
Both Toews and Keith would seize the opportunity to be valusble in whatever way they can, yet both are proud warriors who will not play if their game slips too much. Maybe Keith figures, just get through the regular
season and then his savy, his experience coupled with the adrenalin to really push himself hard - ultra prepared - for each playoff game is the way to bow out..
He has a lot of mileage on.his body but the mental aspect probably is a great challenge to be prepared all the while knowing he isn't as good or capable than previously. Would you say his capability has been sliding since Blackhawks last Cup, or later than that? |

His divorce deal could be hurting him with the lower pay. Retire and his payments go down. Ryan Sandberg did that when he retired, got divorced and unretired a couple years later? Not saying Keith would unretire, simply the lower income is hurting him. |

Thanks for sharing that rumor on Dach. I wouldn't trade him for a 1st rounder alone. It depends on where in the round the pick is and acquire another NHL-projectable asset, too, even if it means expanding the deal where the Hawks add an extra piece (like his brother). |

Scott Powers from the Athletic is reporting that the pick must be in the top 15 in order for the Hawks to consider the trade proposal for Dach.
If it's in the top 7, then a 1 for 1 trade may be fine but personally I would want an additional asset if the pick is in the 8-15 range. Call me greedy. |

Not ready to move on from Dach yet man slow down ,kid was showing some real promise then got derailed with some injuries and rushed far to quickly. I guess if you get a top ten and a game ready prospect maybe ,guess everyone has a price . |

It is hard to take seriously the negative positions of people who had continuously complained during the Golden Era of Hawks hockey. It's like the story of the little boy who cried Wolfie.
That said, I agree with you about KD. I am emotionally ready for the pain of the next several years. Many here say they are; but will be flopping around in their wet diapers by year two, moaning about KD The Moron. |
