Bedard is still the guy, but yea good point. Hawks with Kane, ADC, Dach and Strome could stumble into being 6 or 7 worse. This all but locks up a top 3 pick I think. Wonder if Hawks will be having tryouts at the local beer leagues? Haha. I am over it, looking forward to it, gonna watch some Cup replays from 2010 around December just to remember the good old days.
- kwolf68

For sure the hope is Bedard. Fantilli is not a bad consolation prize, tho. Mishkov is Russian and signed until 2026 so him I don't know about. Plus, the Hawks and Russian draft choices don't go too well.

If Strome doesn't get a QO and leaves as a free agent, won't it be because nobody in the league was willing to give up an asset for his $4M RFA rights? Or are you suggesting that KD is too incompetent to take a 7th rounder if it were presented to him? Or that he failed to tell GM's around the league that the guy is available?

Once again, a series of strawman arguments in your parade to be an organizational mouthpiece.

While you have spent years upon years lecturing people on this forum about how we should react to the decisions Hawks brass have made, the results are in, the previous guy wrecked this franchise. You told us to whistle dixie, defended the organization like it was your child and to just let it play out. Well it played out, and the results are not pretty. In fact, they are grissley. So pardon me if your views hold little weight anymore as you clung to Bowman bad move after move after bad move. And now one single move draws harsh criticism you are there right on cue. I give you credit for loyalty.

Quit playing that song, of course I don't know what offers me may have had.

I am going by what he said he wanted to make that deal. To go from THAT to THIS wreaks. He said he wasn't just going to settle. Listen to his words. He set the expectations.

I guess I should be a good soldier and not so negative and wrap my head around a way to couch both Seth Jones deal AND this deal both into positives. Take a look at the two deals and imagine the same team gave up ADC and got Jones. Simply incredible.

I know Davidson didn't make the Jones deal, but the meanies were implored by the usual cohorts to tell them if he could have done better, see how it turns out, sprinkle pixie dust around and light some incense, it's ALL good. LOL

Just asking your rationale for your position, which you've done. You're mad because the return isn't what you thought, so the GM is an idiot.

Once again, garbage argument. I never said Davidson was an idiot. This is another of your tried argument angles.

Kyle Davidson may very well be a very bright guy. He has made a couple excellent moves. He has made one move that blows and most objective analysis out there has serious questions about this return.

But Saint Mohel rushes in as a true defender of the faith to root out all evil and discerning attacks on Messiah GM.

Kyle may have also have been given the edict to cut payroll. Most of what they have to deal that is expensive won't return anything. Cat would. Next to go may be Murphy. I doubt McCabe is tradeable after last season.

I didn't think that was a hard one to answer. Are you mad that nobody wants Strome's RFA rights for $4M, or are you mad that someone did and KD was too stupid to accept?

KD making deals to put his stamp on the team rather than make them better. Oof.

Could be a long long long time before we are good at this rate.

They traded a top line player for an at best middle 6 guy. Hopefully Jiricek or Nemec falls to them. The forwards after the top 3 all have some serious flaws.

Hagel still has 2 years left on his deal.

- Elbows15

You clearly do not know how the NHL draft works and the forwards at the top are not through developing and both
Jonathan Lekkerimäki is the best pure skater in the class (much better than Dinky) and some people have in the top FOUR,
and Gauthier is at this juncture is the 5th best NATURAL GOAL SCORER, are part of the top of this class. Cutter has size, hands and net drive ad does lots of damage down low disrupting things with his six foot three fram and feet.

So you read some comments on the prospects and have formed you opinions that they are substandard but they are simple not super prospects like in generational.

Even Joakim Kemell, the BEST NATURAL scorer is bigger than DeBrincat.

ALL three are...so to try and poop on the draft class as bad as you are doing is gonna have you changing your opinion when you see them.

The partial reason the class has been criticized is the lack of a true number one overall with more than one guy being considered, AND THAT the prospects on defense are very SUB-STANDARD.
And that starts with David Jiricek and Simon Nemec nd the fall off after the first 4 are chosen is gigantic ------> all HAVE CHINKS IN THEIR armor and long way to go to be NHLers.

...and that is simply fact.

You can try and try and doom any forward they take early, but there is a better chance of being correct if you predict that for the picks later than the top dozen.

(did I sound like Mel Kiper? yikes!)

It was going to take 11 years anyway...

Let's hope they pull C Jack Hughes and silky skating lw Adam Ingram in the second round. They both have great first steps...

Only because the champs will be raising the banner, otherwise it would be 8-3.

I expected more for debrincat but I can see where teams see a guy who is going to want a 80+ million over 8 years come ufa. Can you invest that during a rebuild? No.

Rest just shows you how bad this roster is. If some gm gives the hawks a top 15 pick for dach said gm should be fired on the spot.

Just a bad team and now a slow climb back to respectability.

What has Schmaltz done exactly to make that trade better or worse for either team?

That's no poop. He'll be health bombed in the playoffs. One of the biggest chicken poops I've ever seen.

Also we have zero clue what the internal budget is here. For all those years Wirtz ate huet money or whoever else to win….have to think they are looking long term and not dropping max cap ceiling vs results.

Not saying I agree with it but it’s a variable here nobody knows. So maybe direct the anger back at rocky and his puppet master bearded clone of a son.

With the move KD made today i highly doubt he will see the end of this rebuild unless he can draft like a mother (frank)er.

I agree with you here. Biggest thing this organization will need to find is another gm who can rebuild properly.

So i guess he should see what he can get for Raddysh, Kstchouk, Strome, Borgstrom, all of our dmen besides Stillman, in the AHL you have a bunch of 23 year olds so you might as well see what you can get for them as well. And of course Kane and Toews, this is excellent we have just become the Yotes.

Raddysh and Katchouk may be out the door if they were part of the World Junior scandal. I wonder if Brisebois down at TB had some inside info and decided to offload them to an unsuspecting Davidson?
