Say Montreal goes off board and selects slaf

Would you rather draft wright who is the better two way center with comparables to Bergeron or go with higher skill and possible higher ceiling in Cooley?

I still think habs take wright and have a feeling slaf will be drafted by the devil's

People say slaf is like rantanen which if true would be great but I just don't know if I see it

Slaf raised through the mock drafts very fast and had strong tournaments but from what people have said he wasn't very strong for his team, yes played against men but said they still expected more production and when they showed advanced stats and other stats vs recent draft picks from the same league his numbers were lower

Just hope we have a strong draft

At this point I'm just hoping we take the center if Slaf goes #1, too much talk about going D or trading down if he isn't on the board. I don't see a world they pass on Wright for Cooley though, because hes the safest pick in the draft. I'm fairly certain it'll be Wright or Slaf if they stay at 2. It's the worst kept secret that Slafkovsky is almost certainly the #1 player on Tom's board lol. Todd said he already wrote his entire draft blog for Slaf for when he's the pick lmao, thats how confident he is thats who our pick will be.(he believes the Habs take Wright).

People don't say Slaf is Rantanen, they say his peak ceiling is like Rantanen. Which is unlikely he hits. He's more likely Nichushkin or Puljujarvi.

Neither of those really excites me for a number 2

I know it's their style and nichushkin only really seemed to show his potential this year but as long as he is a good top 6 forward that compliments our other forwards I'll be happy

Yep that's just how it is at the top of this draft unfortunately, it's arguably the weakest compared to pretty much any other draft this decade. But thats not to say they wont be good players. That's pretty much what the hope with Slaf is, a good complimentary top 6 piece.
