Agreed, shedding a combined ~$11M would be huge.

Unlike you who is clearly the product of a very narrow gene pool
- NorthNuck

I'd comment on your gene pool Northy but I'd doubt you'd be able to take it...

Per Sens blogger, lord please be true lol:

UPDATED - Ottawa is talking to Vancouver about D Tyler Myers. He has a 10 team list as part of his NTC. Myers has 2 years left on his deal at 6M AAV. He's 32 years old and a RD. The Canucks are looking to shed dollars on their payroll for JT Miller. Ottawa would most likely have to include a 1st round pick in 2023 plus a defensive prospect I'm told. More to come...

- Whiskey-Tango

I like this. But we then need 2-3 good D on the right side hahahaha

It's pretty quiet on Van news so far today. That must mean that Miller is going to re-up for 8 years.

If you can shed that salary and get a 1st back you do it for Myers.

Not on my end as I think you need both to be competitive with this current roster.

We have Pearson, Myers, D!cki, Richardson and possibly Garland and Hogs to deal.

Has to be a RHD there somewhere for those guys lol

Seems stupid to trade a very competent RHD man in Myers for a RHD man.

No thanks, either get a deal you can’t refuse with Miller or roll with what we have to start the season.

Don't get me wrong I'm ok with Myers staying we just aren't getting 6 mil value there. I know Boudreau likes Myers so it's doubtful he goes anyway.

What do you expect from a guy that thinks the Canucks should try trade UFA Richardson.

Posted this in the boudreau rumour but think it fits in this miller thread and for foddder … I really don’t get how anyone can look at this team and say it’s close to anything. Sure if you get in poffs anything can happen, but I think it’d be a huge stretch to get in next year. Rutherford needs 2-3 years of some bold moves to get us out of this carnage leftover by Benning. I think it gets worse, or equally bad, on the ice from here on out for a bit.

Miller - like the player (not so sure the person) but it would be nice to cash in on some assets for once.

Losing guys like Tanev, Markstrom, Toffoli and many more before for nothing is getting tiresome.

Realistically, we’re not doing anything with or without Miller next year beyond squeeking into playoffs … and I think even that is the high point of ceiling, maybe even pipe dream. I think it would take career years from many guys to do anything more, and they really didn’t show that trend last year. Sure they righted the ship, but that’s about it. Plus depth, we just don’t have it when injuries hit. It’s a shame we’re wasting more demko years … but is what it is. Watching the speed, quality and depth of teams in finals really hammered home for me how far away Nucks are.

Over two hours until the NHL Draft and like I said yesterday things remain pretty quiet on the JT Miller front. VAN not going to make a deal for the sake of just doing something. There have been very few conversations with legit offers.
