a lot of folks seem to think this would be a terrible mistake, which I don't completely understand. I know that a lot of the hype for Slafkovsky has blown up only very recently, but surely the habs' new management team will have considered this, among a whole bunch of other factors.

Thing is, I trust the management way more than my few minutes of internet research. If they for with Nemec of Slaf, so be it. But if they don't draft a centre and don't have any other plan to find another one, that will be awkward.

agreed, if they don't draft Wright they'll need to address this one way or the other. but I rather see them draft Slafkovsky if they feel he has more potential, drafting according to your needs might not be the best strategy (like with Kotkaniemi... lol).
