I think they will be relatively healthy this season, not sure that is good or bad . Cf needs some magic to retool, if he is going to retool, I hope for the best

The stats seem to back up the highlights. I’ve never been a fan of taking the best player on the board. Go by need and right now we need a high skilled center with top 6 potential or a top pair, all situations defenseman.

Losing both in the same offseason would be rough. They'll get significant assets for Tkachuk, but still. I was looking at career stats for Briere and St Louis. Briere's had really good production until age 34. St Louis scored 20 goals at age 39. My point is I would expect JG to age similiarly well. So an expectation of a minimum of 5 yrs of really good production.

I like his game. We def need the injection of skill. What we do miss is a pure sniper scorer as well. One piece at a time I guess. To me, this is the most exciting time for reshaping your team. Draft and ufa is where you build the team. Again, I want him to keep the picks and prospects. Trades and ufa as long as we’re not hamstrung for decades on bad contracts

Everyone I talk to in Minny says Cooley will be one and done. But you never know.

I haven’t seen much film of Kaplan. But I’ve seen some scouting reports. Good size, tough forechecker and strong play along the boards. The bit of film looks like he’s not a great skater but not bad either. Most analysts say he’s a 2nd rounder with middle six potential and a 20 goal scorer who is reluctant to shoot. I’d like to hear your thoughts on him.

It s a big yr for Frost, Tippett, York and a lesser extent Cates. The first 3 got a real taste of the NHL. Time to prove they are viable contributors on a good team. I like Cates, but to have any expectations is just too soon.

You could very well be right about Cooley. I read a local article today that he wants to feature his creative side. He’s a fan of Zegras and the Michigan. The Gophers play a tough schedule. He’ll be targeted physically by older players with size. It’s a good test for him and it won’t be easy. We’ll see.

If this is even remotely true the Flyers have opened themselves to tampering charges and could get royally effed.

The Flyers weren't a legit contender last off season. Which is why Fletcher went out and made the moves he did. They were not a few moves away.The same young players that we have right now were the ones we had last off season when Fletcher made his moves. How does who the coach is change if the team should do less or not?

Attard, Brink and Cates were just signed out of college, Desnoyers is now ready to compete for a spot, Tippet came over in the trade for G, Hodgson was not on anyone's radar, Laczynski and Allison were hurt, Foerster and Wisdom were also hurt, so what are you talking about when you say we had the same young players last off season?? And I have not even mentioned Ratcliffe and Frost who were not ready last season either. We have a much deeper group of young players now than we did last season, and its not even close!
