Burns, Gaudreau, Debrincat......... it's like the pre salary cap era. |

Pre salary cap might have been the last time the Flyers had a shot of being on Burns' 3-team trade list.

Burns for Risto. - Feanor
One of the few ways San Jose would actually manage to downgrade in their own end in a D for D swap for Burns

They would get some cap space, though.
Supposedly lots of teams around the league love Risto, so why not offer him up and hope. |

I have changed my mind on DeBrincat, with 2 years left on his contract, the Flyers can surely lower his value a good bit before they resign him |

I think I follow your point, but if his numbers dip significantly in his two years here, then why would he have any interest in resigning with the Flyers as a UFA? As Bill laid out yesterday, the dangerous thing about getting involved with Debrincat is that he has all the leverage. And that, combined with the acquisition cost, makes him a risk the Flyers should simply stay away from. |

The way I see it, even if the Flyers don't move either, they still have to add a defensemen. Can't go into the season with Risto being your top RHD. So they may need to add two. - rayc16

I want them to draft high in 2023 but will they, even if they dont add? I really think most younger players will take a step forward this season, Coots, Hayes and Cam all have something to prove. With Torts, Hart will be better, no moves, I still think they finish out side the playoffs but pick in the teens, how does that help? We will be back to slow and grow. Only thing I think works, you play the team you have, hope Coots is back to being Coots, you unload him mid-season for a good return, then pray Hayes and Cam greats seasons and dump them anyway you can. Pray the 2nd half of the season you end up in the bottom 5-10 of the league.
If not, you might as well make smart FA adds and good hockey trades. - wcorvette
I think you coined a new phrase here. "Slow and grow"

I think last year before the deadline, his agent read the tea leaves and told him he needs to take the pay cut. |

Gotcha. I agree that it is virtually a fact that his numbers would drop playing in Philly |

If flyers want him I think he will go there. I doubt if devils offer 10 mill and flyers 9.5 that it will matter . There is a difference between south and north jersey as it relates to Philly and where jg grew up . Flyers need to lose cap $ to make it work |

I personally wouldn’t trade either. Yea provy has struggled but I put that on management. He’s prob not an elite 1 a and needs a decent partner but I think he’s a 1b or 2. They don’t grow on trees either. Sanheim has progressed and I’d want to keep him.
What I will say is sure.. if we trade them they’ll dominate on another team. |

Dear god. I wonder if jvr is reading this as he’s packing his bags for his move to Arizona. I bet he can’t wait to play in an arena that can hold 500 fans and won’t be sold out. Haha |

I’ve been wondering a lot what the chances are that coots can rebound after the surgery. Doesn’t sound good at all. I’m hopeful that bee can make it back without lingering effects. What an offseason holy f. |

I think he’ll end up here too. I’m assuming north jersey bad and south jersey good? Haha.
I’ve been to Newark to see a game. My god it looked like a war zone. Right up until we got tot the rink. Man. |

Night and day, for sure, as far as North and South Jersey. I grew up in SJ, moved from there 30 years or so ago, but have remained a die-hard Philly sports fan all these years. Great place SJ is to raise a family. I miss going to WAWA, though! |
