Not sure if it's been mentioned, but when you retain, it's a % of both cap hit and salary. Murray is a 6.25m cap hit, but has salaries of 7m and 8m the next 2 years. They'd be paying above the cap hit. Not that big, but also not something they'd be eager to do.

I would take Dach for 16

He still needs to get someone first. That’s the issue. The team still has a bad stigma around it (it was earned). When you have a goalie a team is trying to give away refusing to waive it’s still a bad look.

This season is important to not only develop the players but change the stigma around the league with Buffalo.
