I read that Cleveland never even talked to him, let alone talk to the people in the lawsuit. From that perspective the league is going to come down hard on them. Some have speculated that he never suits up for them.

Does the NFL have a clause where they can reject contracts due to situations like this? I know there there are many athletes who have legal issues but just seems this may be something that could be prevented especially it being fully guaranteed.
I know the NHL rejected the first kovy contract but for a different reason but wondering about if the NFL could have done something similar even though Watson isn't being investigated other than civil cases
But that would be a very Cleveland thing to do, make a huge trade mess it up and end up with egg on their face |
