Enjoying reading everyone's feedback to this trading Kreider question.

Draft is tomorrow night and Friday, with UFA signings only 1 week from today.

We'll see if Drury decides to make a big splash or not.

Team chemistry has come a very long way this past season, and the Playoffs were exactly the "learning experience" we were hoping for. Moving key leaders on this team right now makes no sense to me. Sure there are roster issues to address, but not at the expense of losing our "unnamed" Captain.

I feel we need to keep this team's core intact and give them another opportunity to succeed next season.

If the team is under performing by next year's All Star game, then I'd consider trading Kreider. Not now.

Good question Jan and great comments from the "Rangers Nation" on Hockeybuzz.

You have colin white out there. Could fill 3rd line center.

The only way I trade Kreider is in part of a package for a 1C.

Agree, they loved his breakout now want to trade him. I get they are up against the cap, but you start removing important pieces of your team if affects everyone on the team. He is a team leader.

I really don’t think we need to swing for the fences here on a center. Someone like Bennett, signed for 3 more years at 4.4 fits the cap and every other box we’re trying to check. Let Chytil center Laf and Kakko on the 2nd line and drop Kreider to the 3rd with Bennett.

Panarin Zib Kravtsov
Laf Chytil Kakko
Kreider Bennett Cuylle
Blais Rydahl/Motte Reaves/Hunt

This is very much in line with what I'm hoping for. Not Bennett specifically, but you're right, it's hard to come up with a better option that fits at that price point. Although I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of Rooney, since I don't believe Motte has played much center.

Could Mika be traded for a 2C?? Can't believe no ones thought of that yet
- picklerick

Because that’s crazy. Hey let’s rip down the team and start over. (Sarcasm)

PLEASE STOP THE MADNESS!!!

First, we had to entertain the crazy notion to trade Panarin. Now, we're going to trade our de facto Captain?

WTF is going on here?? Its only the first week of July --- we can't possibly be this bored already, can we?

- TommyGTrain

Its funny how time is, just a few years ago, I was lambasted for not wanting to sign Panarin, now half the board wants to trade him, but he cant be traded. Insane.

I don't know that anyone (or at least most of us) actually want Panarin traded. This is just something to stave off the boredom.

Now that the team is in a position that he can actually help the team, people want to trade him. He had a sub par playoffs for a player of his caliber but wasnt this a learning year for this team, even for Panarin?? Insanity

I think the supposed story that Drury was upset with Panarin's effort level in the playoffs is what got that all going

and then McDonagh waiving his NTC for Nashville started getting people believing that players can be convinced to waive them

but, that instance is proving to be a unique circumstance because Tampa threatened to waive him to Columbus

Kreider, Panarin, and Trouba all have long term NMC's none of them are going anywhere anytime soon

I was far from advocating trading Kreider and jimbo knows the twitter discussion from the other night that drove me adding this as one of the questions

Listening to Sxm and Jeff marek, he says among other things:

“when push comes to shove, JT Miller is gonna be a NYR”

“Based on the conversations he’s had, the wind is blowing towards the NYR”

Mentions Kakko and next years first as pieces that could go the other way

Well they better make sure they sign him and keep Miller and Laf at the same time

He said the caps, isles and devils all want him too

It wouldn’t surprise me cause Drury wanted him bad last trade deadline. But is he willing to trade Kakko and more for potentially only one year of Miller? That’s the question he has to ask himself

There is no way they wouldn’t have an extension in place. They’d have to

8 x 7.5? Something like that

How are they fitting that salary in even with moving Kakko?

They have to extend him before or shortly after the deal or that’s a major overpayment for a year of Miller

This year they can fit 5.2 is he?

I do these cap friendly things and a lot of times I see Vancouver fans wanting LHD prospect, so are we doing?

-Kakko or Chytil
-Robertson or Jones
-‘23 first rder

I think that’s fair if he’s extended
