Colin White is available, so they are obviously no longer interested in Wright. |

Cooley is the more spectacular player. Dynamic skater, great hands, creative with the puck.
The thing that worries me is that when I look at the highlights, the competition he was playing against doesn't look very high caliber...but I had the same reservations about Caufield. That USNDP team was so good, they were destroying every team they played against.
Wright is not as spectacular as Cooley, and he is more of a cerebral player.
As for Slafkovsky, I saw less of him, but from what I did see it seems people are really taken away by his 6'4'' frame. Looks good in the corners in puck protection and "keep away" game. Looks like he has a decent shot and can move for a big guy. As I said before here, what I don't like about him is the recency bias. The guy climbed from out of the top 10 to potential first overall pick in a few months.
The "bust vibes" around him are too much for me for taking the risk at 1st overall. |

Still think they should get that Habs gif lady to make the 1st pick, if they keep it... Or even better, if the Habs trade down to #3. |

While I believe Wright is the choice, I still see the Habs more likely to dropping down to get Cooley later in the draft over picking Slaf first overall.

Reports coming out of Russia that he's wanted for purchasing a fake military ID while playing in the KHL there. Same thing Fedotov allegedly did. |
