I guess it is the easy way out to blame the goalies for getting hurt just like blaming guns for shootings

Your analogy makes no sense.

I would almost rather go with Domingue for > $1M or give Lindburg a look at the backup position. If we have to give Jarry a raise next year we'll be looking at $7-8M for goalies. We're all focused on getting Malkin and Letang back, but that doesn't make us a better team - just the same as last year at best. GMRH hasn't shown anything yet that he has a plan to make this a better team, just rinse and repeat.

DK is reporting a deal with Kris Letang is close and will be done. He says it will be for 3 years.
- SuperHenderson13

Letang and Geno will be signed before the draft. Mark it down.

And that would somehow be worse than CDS at 1.8m

Why not throw in a 5th and get McDavid, too?

What you note about Jarrys next contract is why I'd like to trade him now.

And you are right on Hextall. It's like he is trying to make them mediocre.

At this point time, what can Hextall do to make the team better? The Pens need youth which is something they don't have a lot of because JR gave it away for stiffs like Brassard, Kapanen and Zucker.

Hextall could make moves that at least have high potential instead of his low risk low reward type moves.

The only way you can do that is through free agency and usually GMs just overpay them. Pens just don't have assets needed.

Not true at all. You can buy low on guys. You can go after euros. There are a lot of avenues that may lead to a greater outcome than returning the same team.

I think the issue with Hex is he acts as if we just won the cup, or just missed winning the cup every year. Instead of making bigger moves to get to the cup.

Did Hex do anything in Philly to show he has a unique skill set as a GM? Or is he just a former NHL player?

M yguess is he really doesnt know what hes doing kinda like Guerin having $14m in cap eatin up in buyouts.

His strength in Philly was stockpiling draft picks and moving out albatrosses. His shortcomings was alienating most of the front office and not listening to his scouts.

But as far as putting a winning team in the ice....no.

Edit: He was apparently involved in a lot of the deals in LA as AGM, so he has been part of a championship front office.

I would like to know where the Brian Boyle talks are at. That was the best value contract the pens had last season.
