White sucks though.

In a 4th line role he might be decent. He was played mainly in a top-six role in OTT which he clearly is not.

Goaltending has been the biggest cause for playoff failures and you’re attempting the same duo for the third time?

He's an NHLer, just not an NHL scorer. Kinda like Lazar I guess?

Yeah....I'm not feelin' it at all...

EDIT: having said that Hex is a pretty decorated ex NHL goalie...I gotta try to at least trust his gut and an opinions on goalies....

If CDS didn't have two pretty major injuries in a row, I'd be fine with it. They have such a thin margin for error and there's no way in hell I'd let the lack of tending depth kneecap me a third year in a row.

Same duo for playoffs for 3rd straight year...if they make them that is....but neither of them really played in this season's playoffs....DeSmith out in first game after looking fairly good in it...and Jarry on a broken bleeding foot in game 7....still though...it will be a big fvcking question mark all season again leading up to the playoffs...if they make it...

Just makes no sense especially at the price. In a cap world you already have limited options/ability to make marginal upgrades so when you elect no to it’s just flat out stupid.

I dunno. I guess it all kind of depends on what kind of bigger fish they think they can get up front.

IF they can land him, and trade for Pulju, then they have to decide if they're keeping Necas or DeAngelo. In either case they wouldn't be able to take back more than a million in salary.

Unless they buy out or find a taker for Gardiner.

So we are going to change Letang and Malkin, two guys that werent part of the problem in the playoffs, and we are going to give raises to the main problem in the playoffs, DeSmith?

Absolutely sad lol.

You dont give a backup goalie $1.8M when he is unreliable and hasnt been able to help you in the playoffs for two straight years.

If we lose Malkin/Letang over $1M and we gave losers like Carter and DeSmith new inflated deals, I wont be happy. Hextall has done nothing to inspire confidence in whatever plan he sold FSG on.

You mean the talk poop plan, because I can't put it into written word? That plan?

I just don't get the DeSmith contract... Are we sure it isn't $1.8M for 2 years?

I just can't believe that we are going to roll Jarry and Desmith again, both of whom have done nothing to warrant any confidence.

I'm just going to throw this out there... Holland is among the worst GMs in the league and he needs a goalie. Send him Jarry and fleece him and then sign Fleury. At least it would efficiently manage assets. Fleury has had his issues but Jarry must have the worst playoff track record of any starting goalie right now.

Give me this year's first, next year's first, Kassian and Broberg for Jarry and McGinn.

I will be very happy to have that level of certainty, knowing he is signed. But I have been hoping for a longer contract to lower the overall cap hit.

I guess it is the easy way out to blame the goalies for getting hurt just like blaming guns for shootings

Why not throw in a 5th and get McDavid, too?
