Looks like Kirill Kaprizov is the next russian being hunted down in Russia. I hope that Podkozlin and Kuzmenko are over on this side of the world already.

Yup. Plus this could really cause Russian prospects to fall hard in the draft

Teams who can afford to take big risks with their picks could end up benefitting long-term.

And to me, if we’re trading with NYR, the deal should include Schneider+Lafreniere.

And maybe even say F the 1st rd pick with it.

And yet you don't hear much about them?
- VanHockeyGuy

Maybe that is a good thing. The anti Ek effect

Yes I would say not worth the risk atm, unless we can pull another Bure and draft a steal in the 6th rd and hope that they defect.

Height is just so overvalued in the draft. Hopefully the old bastards are aging out and the new guys can at least find a middle ground.

Then I’d say F NYR. The absolute poop they’re offering with kakko/chytil/Lundkvist Is not worth it.

Well then you are keeping miller until the TDL. Your ask is absurd. Schneider alone would be a home run.

At least ones that are not already playing here. I would not draft any Russian that is not currently on North America soil.

For this year. If he has another season like last year, someone will give him 9-10 on the open market. I think there’d be a handful of teams that would give him 9-10 right now over 5/6 if they had the chance.

Nothing will happen. Those offers won't improve at the draft if anything will be less. If it didn't happen at TDL it won't happen now. The ask will be too high at this point. Will be good to see Miller back.

Wouldn’t be a home run. But they need some quality back not quantity. And cap space would be a bonus.

The only teams taking those swings will likely be the ones who already have deep prospect pools and/or surplus of picks in this draft.

So a .25ppg rookie defenseman is worth a top 10 points leader, power forward in his prime straight across?

Well if you fully believe Schneider will develop into a long term shut down dman who can skate and move the puck out of the zone, then yes.

For the deniers

Seravalli on Miller: I would be surprised if he doesn't end up moving at some point this week just given the interest that has been there.

Anyone that doesn't believe he has played his last game as a Canuck, is not that bright.

Not really a Canuck scoop. But apparently there’s been a lot of talk around the league this week that Cutter Gauthier will be a top 3 pick in this draft. Not sure if that’s implying NJ or ARZ or maybe even both.

He is the 3rd best forward in the draft, behind Wright and Slavkovsky.

That's because Shane Wright is going to fall to 4.
