The JT Miller watch is full on in Montreal. Understandably, Vancouver’s ask remains high, but the interest in the talented forward is very strong. A developing story we’re watching closely.

Feels like Kakko is one more mediocre season away from people gushing over his potential to realizing that he’s a middle 6 winger.

I would not trade want a 2nd/3rd line winger as the centrepiece return for Miller

Cam has Ohgren at 8 and calls him, his favourite player in this draft.

I went and reviewed Ohgren a bit more last night. I regret putting Ohgren onto my list in the first round.

If Ohgren is a new age power forward as Canuckarmy called him. William Nylander is the new Ryan Reaves in the NHL. Ohgren was on his ass more than Pettersson.

Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli had this to say in his latest trade targets list:

Back in April, Canucks president of hockey operations Jim Rutherford said “we’ll know by the Draft” as to whether they’d be able to keep J.T. Miller in Vancouver for the long-term.

As we close in on Round 1 on Thursday night, it appears the Canucks have their answer. According to sources, the Canucks met with Miller’s camp on Tuesday in Montreal and the two sides remain far apart on parameters for a potential contract extension.

There has been no shortage of outside interest in Miller, which the Canucks have been fielding since even before GM Patrik Allvin was hired. Miller has racked up 217 points in 202 games in a Canucks uniform. The sense is the Ohio native would prefer to play in the United States. One of his previous clubs, the New York Rangers, has been bandied about as a possibility. The New Jersey Devils are believed to have interest, in addition to the Washington Capitals as a potential replacement for Nicklas Backstrom. Expect the return to be north of what Kevin Fiala brought back for Minnesota.

- Confirmed NYR did offer a 2022 1st, Chytil, and prospect for Miller at the deadline
