I guess it would still be the worst trade of the 8 years.
OEL @ $7.whatever for 6 years for Beagle/Rous/Lui all expiring.
If we had gotten a 1st out of it instead of giving one up I’d be on board. - 1970vintage
They will have to find a way to get something for OEL or buy him out next year. |

Nice, my kid decided that he doesn’t want to play Rep or try for Jrs anymore so suddenly I’m finding I have a lot more free time this summer. I’m trying to work up to 50 yards after 18 beers - I-own_da-Northwest

There was talk he's not happy on #2pp, and would accept a move for more quality minutes.

Maybe. I'd say at between 4-5M per year is still what defenders of his calibre and age are getting on the market.
Vegas traded and Van got rid of Schmidt at 6m for a 3rd. OEL equal too Schmidt, so keep 1.25 and get a 3rd then |

I feel that with the new management team we have in place, this offseason will be interesting to say the least. The next 2 weeks should be exciting for our team. - I-own_da-Northwest
I hope so. They don't really have many ties to the players. |

They're the same age. OEL has 5 years left and Schmidt has 3. I'd say OEL is better, but it's two extra seasons. |

That's funny. If true then he might actually be willing to waive. |

Getting better players for PP2 isn't a bad idea. |

I'm not sure how he was extended. At least he didn't hire Tocchet. |

He just seems like a safe/mediocre GM, not ballsy enough to screw over a franchise but not a guy who's going to build a contender either. |

He started out really well. Drafted a lot of good players, caught the "we are close" bug and started trading away lots. Missed on a few picks. Lost team chemistry. Coach quit mid season.
Ran into cap troubles.
I'd like to see them turn into around again. They have some really good players still. Just rid of the ego's |
