Wiz I think if Montreal would take winger at the 1st overall pick, I don't why they would do that seeing they need a number 1 center but I digress. I could see jersey giving up the 2nd overall in a package deal for DeBrincat. But if it's the other way around then no to the Debrincat deal. That's the feeling I have with jersey. - Scott1977
I think that Wright can play anywhere and soon.
You think the Slovakian can, then maybe you take the chance that in the faster NHL he does play well and score ....Kirby hasn't yet...
Juraq will get some contact, but you better be sure.
and Cooley helps you most as a centre...and remember the drafted a Centre who is now in Carolina. You can always use the surplus at a pr3mier position until the CAP is part of the player's destiny...
Coley helps soon too, because of his offensive game.
I totally understand why KD is dangling the 'cat, mostly because he wants guarantee in front of hid starting at #38 picks and if he thinks he is getting a Brayden Point, Doug Gilmour, Luc Robitaille and a Darryl Sutter along with they next Jonathan Quick, them new scouting staffers better be big time geniuses... |

Well if any of this talk of hypocrites makes you stop voting, you are the hypocrites.
Until we have the majority voting, why should anyone care all that serious about you.
So much has changed since Eisenhower. (My first President)
The Corporations started being "people" back then when their lobbyists started all the gifting for tiny adds in legislation.
Both parties stuck around Washington on the weekends, b/c they weren't so stressed to come home work events to keep campaign donations coming, because if you get outspent, you basically get fake out-messaged.
Before that time both parties hung out and compromised while they were at dinner parties, charity events and handball.
No so now.
The most starting getting dug between the congress and the constituents.
After Newt closed it down the government to stop the "rogue "Clinton, it began, the chasm of you vs. us.
It got bigger and bigger. No real "lets come to agreement."
The 24 hour news cycle was now 24 hours of speculation no longer just the nightly news for you to form your opinion.
Your opinion could be formed by less fact and more opinions the more you watched.
I talked to an expert stats guy who said that the public for the last decades is more willing to let a complete outsider (new face) b/c it is not the same old same old.
That''s how Obama got elected.
That is also how Trump got elected.
I implore you not to quit the process by not voting.
Change will come not with term limits but a majority voting which means more of that majority should be closer to informed.
Now is not the time to say they all lie, or steal....now is the time to vote for the better based on records or real actions they have proposed, eb=ven if they didn't pass into law.
I know I don't want state legislatures deciding who candidates are and strong vote totals FOR soemof the candidates make that less possible.
I JUST KNOW I will not miss an election at any level or make a last minute fill in until I see not who recommends them but the total of their resume via actions up until that election.

Can’t vote if I’m no longer a citizen, but until then, you can bet your ass I’ll vote. Even though I feel the U.S. is in an unrecoverable death spiral. |

A third viable party would end the US pendulum. In Canada, it was a grassroots effort on the prairies that created the third Canadian viable party, the New Democrats.
Our biggest issue up here is the Hockey Canada scandal |

Have no intention of not voting, but there won't be change, anything meaningful anyway, without another party.
America's a land filled with choices but for our political parties we only get two flavors. And as far as being informed? Most people only go to sources that support whatever opinion they do...if they look up anything at all.
KD do anything yet or did he borrow Stan's pillow and woobie for the draft? |

Varlamov has one year left at $5M. If the Hawks can net Raty or Dufour, then I'm all for it. They're two of the Isles top prospects so not sure if that's doable but definitely aim high then negotiate from there.
Dufour has emerged this past season as potentially the steal of the 2020 draft as a 5th rounder. IIRC, he was highly regarded during his draft year, too. - Theo Fox
I doubt the sweetener for Varlamov would be Raty, but if it is KD should be all over that (obviously, it’s Raty).
If I had to chose, I’d prefer KD targets Mrazek as the pick/prospects Toronto includes could be better that what the Isles would offer. Maybe KD grabs both goalies and double the return? Varlamov could be flipped at the TDL too. |

Last few years, returns on goalies at the deadline have been middling at best re: Fleury, Lehner

Middling goalies = middling returns, not to suggest that Varlamov would be any better. |

Agree big time. But a third candidate tends to split votes from one side much more than the other. Politics makes me sick, especially when I'm writing out the tax payments.

30 or so hours until the draft. I have a gut feeling that Debrincat will NOT be traded. |

Theo,
You should rename this the Hawks/Politics board............
came back after taking a break to get away from the political talk on a hockey board, figured the drafts coming up, no one will be focusing on politics any more |
