2.8M is a pretty good number for Quick IMO, not going to get a better goalie for cheaper but would need another for a tandem

Quick and Blackwood would be a good tandem. And even if both have good seasons Quick won't be able to ask for much and neither would Blackwood, could set them up for next year as well.

I never knew Quick had such a cheap actual salary next year. Makes a trade pretty easy to make to get his salary retained 50%. Not too hard to convince a rebuilding teams owner to buy some prospects for 1.25M.

Get Quick from LA and trade JC's rights to nj for Blackwood. 5.8M for a tandem that gives you experience plus a young goalie who is obviously talented and more than likely needs a fresh start.

Looking at all the options this one is my favourite. MAF and Comrie would be okay...Would cost more though to get MAF.

I think he'll want more but for the Leafs budget I'm not sure there's a good fit. I think they need an improvement for JT's line (so someone better) ..he's too much money for the 4th line ...and he's defensively poopty (I'm told) so a poor fit on the Kampf line.

I hope you're right but most buyouts (if any) will be closer to the deadline. Wait until the last minute trying to negotiate a trade then at the 11th hour ...waivers then buyout
