this isn't true. there's a minority of people in important positions at the top that control gun laws and abortion rights, but I don't think there's necessarily a strong majority of the 'Murican population that agrees with this. for instance Trump had planned his judge nominations around those who already had a pro-life agenda, so...

meh, even if there were let's say only 10% of the whole population that was in favor of having stricter gun laws and of maintaining abortion rights, you could still have empathy for those people, but whatever.

I doubt that every voter was considering abortion rights during the election, you could very well be a republican and be pro-choice. besides the president doesn't get to directly take that decision anyway, it has to go through the supreme court. and no one told you that you have to feel sorry, if you wanna go with the "they get what they deserve" attitude that's your thing.
