There is no research needed. Regardless of what Tampa chooses to do, any team would be wise to take a chance on Myers. - SuperSchennBros Clearly you are not aware of the buy out ramifications. Phil Myers isnt worth his current salary for a team looking to win now.

Myers has only one year at 2.55m. If they can resign him next year to a team friendly deal then a great move in my mind. I think Myers has some talent to work with. - peesinwind
No question…but I guess I need to do my research… |

People keep saying this like he didn’t just have two dreadful seasons in a row. He’s not 22, he’s 25 and will be turning 26 this season. Half a season of good hockey 3 years ago means nothing. |

Myers turned 25 six months ago. It’s really a glass full, glass empty argument. |

Haha, you know these boards. So many angry posters.
I’m bummed that it might be a couple years or more before we get to see Fedotov. His NHL chance may have just been stripped away from him. Please Provy. Stay put |

And you were probably someone who thought Nashville would make something of him. The glass is almost empty, you just can’t see it. |

I’m surprised this crew hasn’t bought Provorov a plane ticket to go home already. Some nights they talk as if Provorov should be cleaning toilets at Wells Fargo with his tongue after a game. |

Why bother arguing if your crystal ball has already told you you’re right? Who are you trying to convince? Who are you trying to impress? You said it yourself, he’s 25. His career is basically over… |

Not ignoring those opinions. He didn’t play up to that contract. 25 is still young for a defender. Young for any position really. His physical tools are there. That is all I’m saying. There is development left in him most likely and if this kid puts it together he would be a very effective player. There is a big if in there. That’s the risk. |

The fact that Nashville quickly sent him out to pasture is a serious red flag. I for one was glad when he was traded from Philly. I don't like his game at all and haven't for quite sometime.

Would have to see him play some of this year but from his last play I would say 775. Something that can be hidden in the AHL if need be. |

So it’s not a red flag that they traded Ryan Ellis who is this remarkable defenseman but red flags all over the place because they’re trading Myers? This is a team that willingly traded Shea Weber for PK Subban or Seth Jones for Ryan Johansson. Nashville is a good team but nobody has to side with all of their decisions. |

Lets say they myers and he has a serviceable year. You think he is going to then sign for 775k?
I will be shocked if they do not buy him out. if they were looking to take a step back then I could understand them keeping him.

Ummmm, Nashville is known as one of the BEST organizations around for developing defensemen. Ellis was a salary dump. Nothing more and nothing less. Thanks! |

If he plays like a 6/7 defender. Would say he would sign for that range. I said team friendly so that’s what I was commenting on. |

What about Weber, possibly a top five defenseman the passed 15 years and Seth Jones? And you’re welcome. Nashville could have dumped anyone, they chose Ellis. |

He didn't have two dreadful seasons in a row. He had one. His level of play leading up to the 20/21 season does not mean nothing. Speaking of ignorance.

Yes, I believe Myers was a late-bloomer. Folks should keep that in mind. The brain doesn’t reach maturity until age 25-30. We know that he was a late-bloomer physically, so it may be that he really is still just growing up. I personally think in hindsight that it was just too much, too soon for him. It is also possible that his issues in Nashville were different from his issues in Philly.
