Yes, I believe Myers was a late-bloomer. Folks should keep that in mind. The brain doesn’t reach maturity until age 25-30. We know that he was a late-bloomer physically, so it may be that he really is still just growing up. I personally think in hindsight that it was just too much, too soon for him. It is also possible that his issues in Nashville were different from his issues in Philly.

As much as I’m on your side about Myers, this is a thin argument where you’re kinda grasping at straws. I think the point that’s being made is, Myers isn’t finished. He’s still reasonably young and only has had one bad season.

And you were probably someone who thought Nashville would make something of him. The glass is almost empty, you just can’t see it.

You couldn't accurately assess him when he was with the Flyers. You certainly can't accurately assess him somewhere else.

What about Weber, possibly a top five defenseman the passed 15 years and Seth Jones? And you’re welcome. Nashville could have dumped anyone, they chose Ellis.

No, they chose to dump Ellis because of his cap hit and the fact that his game was starting to regress. Not to mention he was beginning to have issues with the injury bug as the Flyers are painfully finding out now. He was the perfect candidate for a salary dump.

Just pointing out why Myers was undrafted, my opinion on his time in Philly, and that I think it is wrong to assume he had the exact same issue in Nashville because it could very well be an entirely separate situation. Just adding some thought is all.

What Myers needs is steady and consistent playing time to get his game back. He wasn't good enough to break into Nashville's lineup without steady playing time. It's a double edged sword. Nashville has a deep defense core.

So let me get this right. In Nashville Ryan Ellis’ game was beginning to regress but in Philly, he’s our best defenseman by a wide margin? I can’t keep up with how Ellis is truly viewed by fans.

For sure and they would be more invested in their own draft picks.

Again, this is a simple answer. Go look at Nashville's D core and compare it to the Flyers D core. I think you will come up with your answer quickly. Do the Flyers have a Josi or an Ekholm? I think not.

Ekholm was the player originally rumored to be moved until he wasn’t and Ellis was moved instead. Nashville just traded for 33 year old ryan mcdonagh with a cap hit of 6.75, which runs through to the 2025-26 season.

Ellis is a very good defenseman that is prone to injury. If he gets into the line up he will make a huge impact on the team. I’m hoping he gets healthy because he can play for sure. We traded Myers and Patrick for him. There was risk involved for sure. But Ellis can play……..when he can play😜

Yes. Bc myers was not what they thought. Yes. Great athletic ability. But…… struggles when against nhl talent.

All this talk about his hockey I q not being questioned

Then why was a six five rhd who skates well not drafted? Suspect. Someone else posted how many games sanhiem has played. Well why is myers not at half of that by now if there are no questions. Why did he seem confused on every back door goal two seasons ago? Why did the defense gurus in Nashville ship him right back out?

Too many inconsistencies here. Players with less abilities are able to defend better due to having said I q.

Fast track to nhl but first cup of coffee not til 22 was it. Ridiculous.
