Garrioch listed multiple players that might be available from different teams including Chychrun, Debrincat and Dubois.

He did not mention Clayton Kellor....leads me to think that Kellor might be the piece that Arizona is pushing.

Great point and good on you for picking up on that. Dorion gives him pretty much everything Sens related, hoping to move the needle or change the narrative, depending what end of the stick PD is on the wrong end lol.

I have talked with a lot of scouts and NHL personnel that are in the Western Conference, Ottawa is the only team that comes up with AZ when talking to them, which is why I reported what I did. Multiple sources telling me the same thing. They want to move the longest contract they have on the books, Chychryn only has 3 years left, Keller 6 years!

Not exactly sure what is scary about a 23 year old who's average ~60pts/ 82 games in his NHL career who's signed long term (compared to Fiala, ~55pts/82 games, who just signed for close to 8M)

Play him with Stutzle for the foreseeable future and have to think he's a min 60pt guy going forward and high probability he'll be a 70+ point guy.

Should definitely be considered especially if they can take one of Zaitzev/White in the deal. Keller would fit nicely is this groups core.

Ideal world though I would like then to just sign Giroux without giving up any assets and use the 7OA to get a top 4D. Or try and get Garland out of Vancouver at a lower cost.

You want to pay this 5'10" 170 lb. guy over 7 million dollars a year for the next 7 years and you're wondering why that would be a bad idea?

I know you are dead against it, but just for a second look at it from the other side. First off, 6 years left on his deal. His NTC kicks in, in 2 years. The one thing people need to do is look at who this player has played with while putting up those numbers. The next thing is to look at who has this player played against. You know darn well, Kellar is up against the opposing teams top line or second line plus up against their top 4 defense. If said player is put into a better situation, will they flourish?

For instance, Kellar led the team in points this past season and played with Schmaltz and Kessel. Galchenyuk was 10th on the team in scoring with 21pts....what a threat lol.....but he was 6th in scoring for forwards on the team! Yikes!

Last year in the shortened season, he was 4th in scoring behind Kessel, Chychryn and Garland. 2019-20 he was 2nd scoring on the team.

He has consistently faced the other teams best lines and best defense pairings with Kessel as his main linemate.....ugh.....just saying....then led the team in scoring in 2018-19 season. He led the team in scoring in during the 2017-18 season....

Let's round it up and say he's a 60 point player. If you have room for one more 7 or 8 million dollar guy in your top six do you really think Keller is that guy? I was hoping for more, especially if you hope to seriously contend for the Cup a couple or three years down the road. Or you can take Keller and seriously contend for a wild card spot for the next 7 years.

We all have to keep in mind that Ottawa isn't a destination spot for many players....taxes, weather, etc....I truly think Keller would excel here, plus lets face it, Brady has a huge influence on management here....Keller is his best friend!

Keller doesn't have ideal NHL size, but I really don't get your need to constantly understate his offensive upside. He's had 5 NHL seasons by age 23 and put up >60pts twice, including last year when he was a top-15 RW in the entire NHL, and you're going to call him a 60pts player only by "rounding up"? By that definition, the Senators have no legitimate 60pts players on their entire roster, including Tkachuk, Norris, Stutzle, or Batherson, and won't for at least another 2 years. And if you believe that, then you're flat-out wasting your time talking about Cup contention.

Regardless of whether you like Keller or not, there's really no point in pretending that he wouldn't be one of the top players on the team in terms of pure offensive upside, especially play-making. And if they're serious about even competing for a wild card spot they're going to have to make at least a couple of major upgrades to both their scoring lines and top-4 D just to put themselves into contention. Keller is by no means a perfect option, but you have to also be realistic about what kind of options they legitimately have on the table... especially given what is now an extended track record of being a losing franchise with ownership that's unwilling to spend to the cap limit.

Of all the player rumoured to be "potentially" available my first choice is Mathew Tkachuk, followed by Pierre Luc Dubois, Lafreniere, Evander Kane and JT Miller. I understand each presents a different kind of cap and signing challenge.

I hated the Sens picking Brady at #4 and was part of the chorus wanting to hang Dorion over the choice. Clearly, I was wrong. Brady is an exceptional leader. He wants to win. Watching him inspires me to believe that I am ready to lace on my skates if needed.

So, if Brady says he wants Keller at his side as the Sens gear up for combat this fall, I will fall in line and support it.

In the playoffs, the desire and will to win is a tremendous factor. We either believe or we do not.

I have been really pessimistic about the future of the franchise with Dorion as GM and Smith as coach. I've been reading for some time how PD has been making roster decisions based on who Smith wants on the roster and we all know how that has worked out.

Tkachuk really likes Smith because Smith really likes Tkachuk and the way he plays the game so Smith is here to stay. If now it turns out that Tkachuk is making decisions about the roster based on bringing more of his buddies into the mix then you can kiss the Sens' collective butt goodbye. Brady will be telling Norris to hold out for term and big money even though we know Norris is not a number 1C.

Stutzle should easily take over that role this season but that would mean he should get the big money, not Norris, who should be signed to a bridge deal. My guess would be that Brady, who wants his little circle of friends to dominate the roster in Ottawa, would want Keller to replace Stutzle on the PP. After they've given money contracts to Tkachuk and his buddies what will Stutzle be offered for example? Bye bye, Timmy.

I hope I'm completely wrong and way out to lunch but I have a bad feeling about Tkachuk.

Being pessimistic is a mind set. You can change your mind.

I am really excited by this draft and this off season. I like this team. If they can add a top 4 Dman (Chychrun), a power forward (Evander) and a depth player (Deslaurier)....so exciting!

Only issue with Chychrun is he is left hand shot. I'd love him but seems like too much of a cost to give up.

I'd be interested in Marino from Pitt, especially if they bring Letang back. Right age and term.

AZ and Chicago made total sense as a trade partner. They both have cap space, want draft picks, and both need goalies.

MTL too but no cap space. Murray and White for Prices LTIR contract?

Heard this morning that Chychrun prefers playing flip side.

Uniting the Tkachuk brothers would be the best big money move this team could make. That's a move that would excite fans, sell tickets, and generate revenue big time. Is it a smart move for the team? Can we count on Dorion to make it happen? Who knows. But it'd be an immediate jolt in the right direction.

Serves to note that so does Brannstrom - how many times this year did the coach entertain the player's wishes? Smith is a Dzone handedness traditionalist à la Babcock. It's why I suggest Weegar - he prefers playing his off hand too (and does with Ekblad), but he's right handed.
