That would be so bad Andersen is not worth a first round pick.bu himself and does not bridge the gap between 7th and 26th - Mithos
I agree. Just based on what we've heard this is how I would see it going down.
Maybe swap some minor picks, swap 2nds maybe, to make it a little more fair. I would be quite opposed to this trade as well. |

If they are going after Josh Anderson or Dvorak, there is no way that the #7 overall should be part of the deal. |

Dreger is reporting that "Toronto continues to scour the goalie market. Kyle Dubas has also poked around on Sens goalie Matt Murray."
Anything on that front, without giving up something to the Leafs, would be a win. |

I'm not sure the Leafs could ever fit in the contract unless the Sens retrain signficant salary. |

I agree.
We've all been so focussed on the 7th over all, would people be OK with Anderson if the cost was much lower. He would improve the RW. |

7th Overall
for
Anderson and 26th overall.
Dorion is going to "reach" with the pick either way, so in the end it doesn't matter... - david22
You add Romanov and Zeitsev in swap and itβs a deal π€ |

Hearing OTT & BUF were deep into conversations about a Matt Murray trade. Sabres are on his No-trade list, and Murray β as his his contractual right β stuck to his list.

Why would PD give Murray a NTC when he was an RFA?! OMG!

Because Matt Murray really didn't want to come to Ottawa and would have held out without that in there. Dorion had to have his big fish goalie and all he could think about was the 2017 playoffs. |

But now Murray clearly knows he isn't wanted here, so why not go to Buffalo and become the starter and get away from DJ and PD, who have made it very known how they feel about him. There's no relationship at all with Murray.

It's strange he wouldn't waive his NTC for Any destination, just to get out of dodge. You have to think it feels pretty toxic for him here. Maybe he prefers a scenario where he can float around on IR/healthy scratchland than he would getting regular rotations in Buffalo, where the top goalie is Craig Anderson? Maybe he blocks a move to spite the Sens for perceived poor treatment/waivers? What was with him refusing to play while healthy this year? All of these seem like poor professional choices... he's really too young to be establishing a rep as a difficult asset. |

Perhaps he wants to go to a better team and is looking to Toronto? Does he really want that spotlight? |

The deal between Ottawa and Buffalo would have included the Sens retaining salary and Buffalo flipping the 16th pick for the 7th. |

You dont give up a top 10 pick to unload a player the team doesn't want and retain salary too. Honestly, PD has NOOOOO business being an NHL GM! Just another notch in the belt for stupidity! |

Had a source text me this after seeing how Ottawa was willing to move down.
"Also makes you realize they want to draft Rudger in the first round"
Quit building a roster for DJ and his hard rugged play, he wont be here at this time next year! OMG

Unbelievable... fresh off a Stanley Cup win, Sakic trades a pair of 3rd round picks and a 5th and winds up snagging a very under-valued Georgiev from the NYR... vs. Dorion giving up a 2nd and a mid-round prospect to get Murray in the midst of a full-decline, and following it up with an unnecessarily long contract, with a NTC cherry on top.

A Matt Murray buyout of remaining 2 years $6.25M Cap Hit & $15M Salary would save #GoSensGO $5M Cash, and the cap hit/savings would be:
Yr 1 $1.75M Cap Hit ($4.5M Savings)
Yr 2 $750K Cap Hit ($5.5M Savings)
Yr 3 $2.5M Cap Hit/Cost
Yr 4 $2.5M Cap Hit/Cost |
