The idea that Drury needs to find a 2C is short sighted. Lets take the Chytil and move him up to 2C, and pit Kravtsov on the right. My line up for 2022-23 season is as follows.
Lafreniere Zib, Kaako
Panarin, Chytil (R) Kravtsov
Krieder, (FA) Collin White, Goodrow
Reave, Motte, (R) Culley

Lindgren Fox
Miller, Schnider
(R) Robertson Trouba

Igor
(FA)

Theres no need to try and break the bank this coming year. We have more RFA's to sign the next year and in 24-25 the Cap will rise to $90M + and can sign all we need then. We got to the ECF by working hard but running out of gas, the kids learned a lot this past season and will again gain a lot of knowledge. We dont need to go backwards to go forward, lets see what we have in the system. Just my humble opinion. LETS GO RANGERS

Motte is not a center, where is blais, and why did you break up trouba and miller ?

horrific

they are a terrible team in cap hell

and they have a Timo Meier contract extension to do after this season

that team is one of worst overall situations in the league

- jimbro83

What? Surely they have the $$$ to buy another $10M per year aging D-man

Your wish list here is a mess. First, Chytil and Panarin do not work together at all. I never saw Breadman look so lost on the ice when he played with Fill.

Ck20 on the 3rd line isn't happening. His center is Mika, and scored 50+ not long ago...perhaps you forgot...enough said.

Colin White couldn't cut it in Ottawa...he will not work in the Big Apple.

Culley isn't playing on the 4th line. Your missing Blais and Hunt. Defense is all over the place...surprised you remembered Fox. And Jones > Robertson.

For 3rd line C, there are a few extra Centers in Vegas. Might get one of them for very little going the other way.

well look, he was bought out because Ottawa is cheap and the buyout saved them money, and he had a pretty bad shoulder injury last season

if the Rangers could get him on a cheap one year deal it's a no brainer to give him a shot, he's still pretty young

No way Rodrigues is a 2c. First, think he is better suited to wing, though he can play center. Second, don’t view him as a second line pivot. Maybe third line. But never know. Maybe I am wrong. He was great early in the season then faded

I thought he played really well in that series vs the Rangers

not a player I ever paid much attention to, but he was definitely a factor at both ends of the ice those 7 games

I think if they signed him, they'd figure it out in camp who plays on what line, no way they could make the declaration that he's the answer at 2nd line center

And I think he will want a hefty raise after being close to the minimum. He did play well in that series and would be a decent add. Just don’t view him as a 2c and more like a winger

If they decide chytl is a 2C which I dont think they do, White is a 25 year really solid 3C with upside.

both would be enormous additions either way

it just seems hard to believe the Rangers would give up the amount of assets it would take to get them though

Agreed. I do think the rangers rather trade from their farm rather than chytl or kakko. Unless its a player they absolutely must have

He played in Crosby's place while he was injured. Did a decent job, too. Pens not giving this kid up, though. With Geno likely leaving, ER would move up to 2C in Pittsburg.

no way the Rangers would trade either Chytil or Kakko for a player who would be a UFA after a season

they'd have to have an extension worked out with either of those guys to do something like that

I think the 2023 first rounder, 2022 2nd rounder, are trade chips, Nils, Jones, prospects like that

Yea same. i rather not trade the 2023 1st since that draft is going to be awesome.

I dont think we will, I think if we are really good next year it will be in play again at the deadline again though

probably a similar trade where it becomes a first based on series wins

Per Kings GM Rob Blake, LAK will move one of their RD to left side to create more depth next season.

Sean Walker, assuming he is fit off ACL surgery is the candidate, has played left side before.

Doesn't sound like a strategy to trade to for Jakob Chychrun

Sounds like they need to give us a center for Zac Jones

So all of you who think this team trading away 1st and 2nd round picks is good for a player who plays 3 months for us is ok let me give you some stats. Picks after the 2nd round only have a 5-8% chance of making the NHL. Therefore it is essential that teams keep their 1st and 2nd round picks but this organization doesn't believe in that. I have watched them trade away so many picks that it sickens me. In a hard cap league a team must have good young players on cheaper contracts in order to win. what's worse is how expensive it has gotten for players on these dead line trades. First and second round picks are given away as if they had no value and most of the time these players leave after only a few months with that team. Tell me how that benefits a team and it's fans?
