so rather than go there, McDonagh reluctantly agreed to waive his NTC to go to Nashville instead

so it's not exactly gonna be a situation of a floodgate of guys waiving their NTC's, Tampa had McDonagh by the balls because he had a NTC not a NMC, it was a unique situation

it also made me realize why guys insist on the NMC on the contract even when it turns into a 15 team NTC clause in later years of a deal

like Trouba, right now, he has a full NMC, 2024 it becomes a 15 team NTC, but he retains the NMC, so he is protected from something like this

same thing with Kreider, he has same type of contract

How much is Trocheck asking for? He's coming off of a $5.25 AAV. His F/O% has been very good, he puts up points and he plays a tough game, so I don't understand why the Rangers are never mentioned as even having an interest in him unless he's looking for way more than $7 mil.
