I could get down with Larkin for Panarin

Detroit seems like the most likely destination in a trade that has about .1% chance of happening

Id be perfectly fine with only trading one of Jones Nils or Robertson and a pick for a good 3C. And sign motte and Vatrano if possible. And Kakko gets a bridge. It’s not the most exciting off season but idk if they actually need it to be

They drafted all these guys and rebuilt pretty much a blueprint for other teams to follow, and now is when we let them out to run like thoroughbreds

- Slimtj100

Why Vatrano with Cuylle and Othmann coming soon? If we trade Kakko for a center then maybe, but if not y take up a spot from one of the kids for multiple years?

This is some dumb poop...Panarin might be willing to go to Fla because of Bobrovsky but Bobrovsky would have to go to make cap space...these writers really need to use their brains like our friend Jan instead of having diarrhea of the keyboard.

Holy hell. I would have bet everything I own that I wouldn't see anything dumber than Geno and Letang both to Carolina...and I would have lost everything lol.
So 2 of the 4 possible destinations are teams that have gone all in, gutted their future assets(I don't think Florida has a first rounder again in my lifetime) and can't keep their current players due to the cap...but both will not only be able to offer an acceptable haul for Panarin, but also pay him?????

I only like Vatrano on a one year deal. I doubt he’d do that tho. He really lengthens the lineup but it just appears Kravtsov is moving him out

If I’m Vatrano I take one yr with the rangers where he plays with Kreider and Zib and scores 30 goals..parlay that into a bigger longer term deal with someone else. Something like 3.5 for this year I was thinking, but like I said he is more of a luxury at this point. I just loved that line all season once he got here

These Panarin trade ideas are absolutely ludicrous. He’s arguably the best LW in the league. Just stop it already. He didn’t have the best postseason I get it but if anyone thinks that trading him helps this team going forward in any fashion you’re completely nuts. He is 100% part of the puzzle for the foreseeable future. How quickly many forget what this guy does on the ice on a nightly basis.

I also want to say that we need to be really careful with drinking the Chytil Koolaid. I am very happy with how well he played in the postseason but we need to see it for a longer period of time and consistently. The Rangers need depth down the middle and I have no problem with him being the 3rd line center and getting more PP time. Let him make it difficult for us to keep him at the 3rd line center position. I might be in the minority but I also think that his trade value is at an all time high. Something to consider if you’re looking to make a big move for a 2nd line center and get rid of Nemeths contract.

Never, Pass

2nd line center or bust, no more big names just for the sake of it.

I think it’s more about who can we afford while not giving up the farm at the same time.

Trading next years first is a tough pill to swallow since we traded this years

Bennett should be the target for a number of reasons. He plays physical, FLA is loaded at center, his cap hit is manageable and he’s signed for a few more years. They paid basically the equivalent of 2 2nds for him so I’d guess they would want that and then some.

Elliott’s Friedman’s 32 Thoughts:
30. New York Rangers: They really like Copp, but right now it’s not a financial fit. They like Ryan Strome (and he likes it there). There were times it seemed like it was gaining momentum, but, as of now, it’s not a financial fit. So they’re looking at centres on the trade market. Alexis Lafreniere’s strong playoff ruined others’ ideas of asking for him, but no question the requests are now about Filip Chytil and Kaapo Kakko. There’s probably some Braden Schneider, too, but I don’t think the Rangers want any part of that. Nils Lundkvist is much more likely. If Adam Henrique had one year left instead of two, I wondered about the Ducks eating some salary and making it work. New York was asking a high price (including a non-waiver eligible prospect) in exchange for Alexander Georgiev, but teams weren’t biting because they thought the goalie might not be qualified due to the cap squeeze.

I think if Drury gets an offer of a mid round pick for Georgiev he should take it and run. No foolin around

I was just reading an article by the Tampa writer in the athletic and he said Mcdonagh is upset by the request to waive his NTC and that his kids love living in Florida and there are no guarantees at all he’d waive to go anywhere.

I hope he doesn’t. I want Tampa to be in chaos

That’d be something!
I could see the Islanders coming after him as he’s likely to waive the clause for a return to the city; the 2nd Unit on the left side is still searching for a Devon Toews replacement and McD could do a lot toward making Dobson a much better D Man overall as he will likely soon be slated as the top unit RHF slot as Pulock slows down a bit.

What would it take? F Simon Holmstrom (former 23rd Overall Pick)+2022 2nd/COL enough?

I understand but IMO the Rangers need to be a little more patient. One more year of Cap hell and we will be in good shape. Lets not trade another first rounder for a 2b center. One more year and we will have some flexibility.

Absolutely. I've been kind of carefree about prospects recently, since the cupboard is so full. But, I'd say it's a bad idea to trade consecutive 1st rounders in general. And next year specifically.

As a former Captain of the NY Rangers, I find it difficult to believe that McD would EVER agree to be traded to the Islanders or Devils. Yes, its business but he could simply stay in Florida ( which he loves ).

Bennett is signed at 4.4 for 3 more years. The money makes sense for us and I think he could be a better fit than Strome or Copp.

Panarin Zib Kravtsov
Laf Chytil Kakko
Kreider Bennett Cuylle

Those are 3 lines with 3 established roles. That 3rd line would be exactly what I envision in a 3rd line. They have size, play physical, can agitate and score. Kreider will still get his 20 minutes a game from the PP/PK.
