I think Geno sees the Market and realizes teams that will pay him the money he wants aren't really playoff teams and besides Washington (which I question if he will be like Fleury and not want to go to a rival) I don't see any teams having the cap space to pay him more than what we would offer him (which I assume would be 7 million/per season).

Fair. The thing with the Canes is that they CAN do this but doing so means they probably can't sign one of Necas or DeAngelo.
