I love these "gotcha" replies and the "gotcha" fails.

Elliotte Friedman is reporting Hextall willing to go into "uncomfortable" territory to get a deal done with Letang. Also believes a possibility that Malkin also gets resigned closer to the beginning for FA. Also doesn't rule out Fleury coming to Pittsburgh as a Backup.

These are all good things to hear.

Just read an article of the top 30 UFAs and where they may be rumored to go. Of course it listed 3-5 destinations, but it had Pittsburgh tied to a few interesting players:

Palat, Trocheck (of course), and Niederreiter

Those wouldn't be terrible signings for this team if they were able to land 1-3 of them.

They try to take what all the legitimate sources say and funnel it through their site hours later. So they are ok, just the internet explorer of rumor sites.

I don't know that's a litmus for the trade market. NSH was just gifited a very good dman for nothing. If you have the space for a very good player and you have to give up nothing you won't have a hard time making that work.

Unfortunately the Pens don't have many attractive players they're giving away for nothing.

Nashville was like the only playoff team from last season with significant cap space and McDonagh had a full NTC. This trade is not an indicator of the trade market at all.

Yeah, definitely some inconsistencies there. But like 123Kid said, it's basically an amalgamation of other rumors, so it just seems a bit lazily done and unfortunately we don't know where they're getting their info from.

Oh I dont think he's great it just seemed like he got a lot of respect like maybe 10 to 15 years ago. I think Trotz might of been a big reason why he did haha

I hope so. I think Geno sees the Market and realizes teams that will pay him the money he wants aren't really playoff teams and besides Washington (which I question if he will be like Fleury and not want to go to a rival) I don't see any teams having the cap space to pay him more than what we would offer him (which I assume would be 7 million/per season).

I don't know man...I don't know...none of us do for sure, of course, just feel like it'd already be signed and sealed for both if so...

Maybe I'm just having a hard time wrapping my head around neither playing here anymore, I don't know, but losing them just feels like something that won't happen.
