Tik Tok going down, oh well who the (frank) cares. - Makita
I do, I’ve been waiting all my life for these times, never thought I’d see the day, like I said many times be prepared for chaos like you’ve never seen, I love all people.
So your newly signed Kuzmenko or even Podkolzin could be charged with draft dodging. If they ever step foot on Russian soil again they may be thrown in the gulag.
Can't happen. I brought up the risk of drafting Russians a few years ago when USA invaded Syria and war with Russia was a possibility over it. Lefty told me I don't understand the NHL business and this would never happen. So it can't....
Thank god we have Lefty or we would never know what's going on....
not in this blog, Lefty started correcting everyone back in the day, now guy has dementia and can’t spell worth poop. So everyone has taken up this corrective spelling crusade in support of poor Lefty. - Makita

Not that the source is iron clad, but they do mention that the player “illegally” terminated his KHL contract, so while there is certainly a risk, it might be more of one person being punished for improper conduct.

Russia is conscripting it's citizens right now. What if you draft a 18 year old and before he leaves Russia for North America he gets drafted for the war? Also, some young players in North America may return to serve conscripted or not...
I wouldn't use a 1st round selection right now on a Russian.
It’s a bunch of nonsense. Desperate republicans trying to distract people from Jan 6 truth bombs. - 1970vintage
Secret Service already debunked it as BS. Kind of hard to grab a steering wheel from the back of a secured limo, especially when you weren’t even riding in it lol!

I agree, it’s a real risk, but I think it’s an isolated incident (for now).

I appreciate the explanation. Guess I’ll roll with it if I post here. It’s all good.

I'm not sure we are looking at it the same. The incident is isolated because he tried to skip on his draft duties and leave the nation. What's not isolated is thousands are being drafted for military service.

Yes, I understand that. What I’m saying is that they used the draft service as a way to “punish” him for skipping out on his contract. That if he had honored his contract he wouldn’t have been drafted, and therefore he wouldn’t be skipping on said duties. But who knows what the real truth is.

Hmmm... when was he drafted and when did he establish he was skipping on his KHL contract?
Seems like it's not in the proper order... and even if his draft was decided after he didnt honor his KHL contract, he still tried to bolt after getting drafted. No?
