Then it is a good thing you don't run a team. Not taking a winger would have left us likely drafting Roslovic or Juulsen in 2015. - Retinalz
I think we're beyond this. The hole is gaping on D. If they are building a contender, they need to prioritize catching up with the best.
Wingers can be traded for. Good Dmen are costly and we simply don't have enough assets to trade for upgrades. Which is why we need to go heavy in the draft on that position. |

The only one worth it from La would be Clarke and I highly doubt they give you him and a first. - TurdFergeson
BS...Sean Durzi, Brock Faber, Helge Grans and Jordan Spence are all good young right shot dmen, as well as Clarke. |

100%
To me drafting wingers, outside of an Ovi type, is drafting the lowest, least valuable position. How much is a winger worth in a trade vs comparable D man?
I love how Nashville or NJ back in the day, always has some upcoming top flight D man or 2 over-ripened in the minors. |

Durzi and Spence aren’t prospects. They are nhl roster players. Grans is meh. |

Tomato / Tomaato - one has 64 NHL games and is 22 years old the other has 24 NHL games and is 20 years old. They're both good young dmen. |

There are said to be no top line players in this draft. A couple could make it to that level but when the top part of the draft is said to be middle six nhlers the bottom half of the first round are crap shoots. I’d bet a third of this 1st round never see the nhl or play a hand full of games at most. You want to trade Miller for that and some B prospect?? I’d take a hard pass and hold on. There will be better offers down the road. - TurdFergeson
That's why i proposed JTM and 15th OA to Philly for
5th OA and 2023 1st rounder.
But people on here did not like that idea.

That would be interesting. You’d get one of the dmen at 5OA and a first in a much better draft next year. It would hurt though this season. |

At 5OA, you keep your finger crossed that either of Jiricek or Nemec are available. |

Nashville had enough depth to trade Weber and Jones, and not miss a beat.
I also think Carolina is up there. They've walked away from Hamilton, Faulk and Hanifin, barely noticed it. |

Fine by me, as he is my preferred pick anyways, although I also like Nemec and have been talking about both these kids since last season. |

Center’s, defense and goaltending before wingers for me as well. Of course if you’re getting a generational talent the rules change a bit. |
