We need another first round pick from a Miller trade, at that point you decide on BPA or draft for position. Personally I think the organization needs to start building a home grown defensive core. - LeftCoaster
You don’t want a pick from this draft. You want the 2023 draft. So either wait until after teams start missing out on guys they want later in the summer or tdl. |

I doubt teams will want to part with a 2023 first rounder so I’m perfectly happy with a 2022 first rounder. |

There are said to be no top line players in this draft. A couple could make it to that level but when the top part of the draft is said to be middle six nhlers the bottom half of the first round are crap shoots. I’d bet a third of this 1st round never see the nhl or play a hand full of games at most. You want to trade Miller for that and some B prospect?? I’d take a hard pass and hold on. There will be better offers down the road. |

What if say Cutter Gauthier is there at 15 and the highest rated D is Pickering and C is Ostlund? You pass on Gauthier?
15 seems to be where there is a lot of mock drafts start to differ in opinion. - we_are_all_canucks
Cutter Gauthier wont be at 15. I believe he is consensus top 5, so I don't think there is that dilemma. But if he was, then yes you would take him as a winger. But as for a 15OA pick, we need D as the best D player available. If all the top D are picked, trade down and get Lian Bichel and another asset. We need to stop ignoring out dearth of D prospects and start loading up on them. For the future roster and well as as the trading commodity of Dmen, start drafting them! Old school NJ and Nashville style, load up on D. |

Good God….thankfully Benning isn’t employed any longer or he’d probably give him 9.5 million just to get it done. - LeftCoaster
And telegraph it before hand ala OEL and pay 10.5 instead |

Russians could fall easily based on politics. - TurdFergeson
He is playing in Canada though so I doubt it will apply the same as if he was playing in the Motherland for a Russian oligarch team. |

Lambert plays C as well, but I think projects more like a winger. BPA at 15 and Lambert looks like he has high end skill. - Retinalz
I have to disagree on BPA at all costs. BPA on D for me at this point. Like if another Virtanen at a higher position then a comparable D man was available, passing on the winger. I don't believe in drafting wingers unless they are elite Ovi types. DMen and C's hold higher value on a roster, in trades, and take longer normally to develop as the positions are harder. |

I want to build the defence, I think there’s some good kids in this draft that can do that. |

We're going to get a good player at 15 but it is a good question; BPA or position? I agree that we need to build up our defensive prospects for development. There will be some interesting D prospects in the 2nd round. |

I hope they go heavy on D the next couple of drafts. Right side in particular, throw in a couple Right C's and a Russian Goalie. - Load Management

Every draft produces top 4 d and top 6 forwards. Some are just stronger than others. |

D is the most important position to fix for this whole organization, we have OEL and Myers taking up 13+ million on the squad, GROSS! And on the farm there is Rathbone, and Woo that is now playing as a winger... FIX THIS BY DRAFTING ALL THE D YOU CAN! |

Than why not trade him for a really good d prospect that is more of a sure thing and closer to nhl. You can’t take blind chances with your best trade chips. |

Then it is a good thing you don't run a team. Not taking a winger would have left us likely drafting Roslovic or Juulsen in 2015. |

I think you could see both. A first rounder and a defensive prospect. Which would be awesome. LA is loaded with right shot dmen and they have the 19th pick I believe. A good fit perhaps. |

The only one worth it from La would be Clarke and I highly doubt they give you him and a first. |
