Dog days of summer started with a bang. I hear BC is an amazing province. I don't know why they spend so much time whining on here. 😆
I live in MB and can't smoke weed. I think I should be the one whining. |

Another Dreger Twitter take...
According to Dreger on S&P, Vancouver is not collecting draft picks - they want good young players. |

Be nice to recoup a 2nd round pick. Unlikely.

Why Bear? He likely isn't being qualified. |

Trade Roomers:
"Rob Simpson of Vancouver Hockey Now reports the Canucks have interest in a Tyson Barrie trade. Evan Bouchard and Cody Ceci played well last season for the Edmonton Oilers which has made Barrie expendable. Plus Bouchard is due a big raise next offseason.
Vancouver has no depth on the right-side, which makes Barrie a perfect fit. Barrie has a very affordable $4.5-milliion Oilers salary cap hit over the next two seasons.
What could Vancouver offer in a trade for Barrie? The Canucks could offer up goalie prospect Michael DiPietro in a Barrie trade. If the Oilers are not interested in prospects and just want draft picks, the Canucks could offer a second and fourth round pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft." |

I thought it was younger players they were after. Soon to be 31 year old Tyson Barrie doesn't fit the mould. |

If its players and prospects. NJ would be a good partner. They have lots of young forwards on their NHL roster. Lots of developing D in the AHL. |

I’d puke if this went down, especially if it were for two draft picks. If it was OEL for Barrie straight up I’d consider it a win… |

No. Absolute defensive liabilty. He puts up points everywhere has played, but PP numbers are way inflated by Drai and McD. Sounds like the Oilers are moving on from Pujujarvi. He might be a future Nichuskin candidate. The Oilers wouldnt want too much salary back as they need the cap space. If we got him for Hogs and a 3rd or Dipetro type deal I would roll the dice. |

I have to tell ya, at least I didn't waste too much time on them. You want fans in the seats? Come up with a solid plan. Most fans could see through the patchwork bullpoop. |

True. But i would think a couple of teams might be interested in a free agent signing risk on him. May as well trade and beat any oher clubs. And clearing roster spot and cap space in the process. |

The Benning model was to trade your draft picks for replacement level young players. |

He did have quite a thing for overpriced plugs. But hey, in the end he did manage to flip some of them for OEL. |
