''The Penguins have offered Letang a three-year contract. Letang wants five years and something north of $8 million per year annually, perhaps as high as $9 million.
Both sides are going to need to compromise a bit to get this done. But make no mistake, Hextall wants to sign Letang.'' - deadpoulet

that's still more brain than a lot of folks... and it's a "staple of grunge" kind of brain, so that's pretty cool.

depends on how they structure the contract though, if the last years are less of a cap hit it could become a bit more tolerable financially. |

The cap hit is always the same over the years, it's the salary that can be different. |

oh, I thought there were ways to play with the cap hit with signing bonuses or whatever, but yeah you're right, it seems to simply be the total amount of cash ÷ number of years. |

Nathan Staios wins defenseman of the year for the chl awards ( plays for the Hamilton Bulldogs).... and when looking him up, realized was never drafted in the NHL, or not that I could find. Small 21 year old player, but you'd think some team would sign him and give him a shot. 66 points in 59 games played. |
